Have you ever had someone whom you dreaded to see? Someone who makes your heart race and your mind scream at you to leave but you just can't?I stated in a previous post that Mara and Ahsi are twins, a bad superstition in her culture due to a belief that they are never truly whole beings and thus, steal from those around them to feel fulfilled. As a result, many of the members wanted them dead early on to prevent a potential calamity. Ahsi learned to ignore their words but words hurt, especially for a child.
Later in the story, the heart is taken, and Mara is separated from her sister and allies only to be stuck with a surviving member of her clan. “We would have given the stone to them, just to survive but oh your mother. She gives it to you! Now, there is no one left except for you and I”
