Description

Here is something I made ages ago (and actually a remake of an even older piece I made when I first discovered Azaleas Dolls)!

The Goddess Maker by is my favorite dress up game next to the Snow Queen Maker. It also holds a special place in my heart as the first Azaleas Dolls game I've ever played. I've always loved Greek mythology (as you may have guessed from my mythology poster thingies series), and I've made it my personal project to create every Greek goddess I could think of on this maker. I've actually been doing it for years, but finally decided I should post them, even if the designs are simpler than my newer dolls. Please note, I have completed a LOT of goddesses and I'm trying to upload as many at once as I can, so I apologize in advance if I flood your notifications, LOL.

Anyway, here's the rundown (from left to right).

Aphrodite: The goddess of love and beauty born from the sea foam. She was married to the crippled blacksmith god Hephaestus (they eventually divorced), but was most notably a lover of Ares, the god of war. Aphrodite was almost always accompanied by Eros, the god of love and her son by Ares, and the three Graces, who served as her attendants. I've always pictured Aphrodite as a brunette rather than a blonde, so I decided to go with that, and I gave her a magical glowing heart to hold in her hand.

Artemis: The virgin goddess of the hunt and wildlife. She was a daughter of Zeus and Leto, and twin sister to Apollo. She was considered the protector of young girls and was also one of the goddesses presiding over childbirth. Artemis hunted with a retinue of nymphs who had all taken a vow of chastity. She is sometimes considered a moon goddess, so I dressed her all in silver, with a silver bow, arrows, and quiver.

Athena: The gray-eyed goddess of wisdom and warfare, Athena was a daughter of Zeus and the Oceanid Metis. Her mother was swallowed by Zeus to avoid a prophecy that said their son would overthrow him, so Athena was born inside of Zeus, later emerging from his forehead and joining the Olympians. Much like her half-sister Artemis and her aunt Hestia, Athena never married. She was patron goddess of the city of Athens, and gifted the olive tree to its people. Her most common symbol is the owl, and she is often depicted wearing a helmet and holding a spear. Unfortunately, neither a helmet or spear were options in the game, and since I honestly didn't feel like making them with drag and drop, I gave her a sword and armor instead.

Persephone (as the Underworld queen): The daughter of Zeus and the harvest goddess Demeter. She was originally a goddess of springtime and vegetation, but was abducted by Hades, the king of the Underworld, and became his queen. Persephone spends a third of the year with her mother Demeter, during the spring, summer, and early autumn months, but returns to the Underworld to preside over the dead with Hades in winter. During this time, Demeter mourns and neglects her duty as the fertility goddess, causing the earth to become cold and barren, thus explaining the seasons. I wanted Persephone to look almost as gloomy as the Underworld she rules over, so I gave her a blood red dress and black jewelry, but also a floral printed bodice to allude to her role as the spring goddess.

I hope you guys enjoy!

Maybe you could do Persephone as a spring goddess in the next one?

I like that you have Aphrodite in something other than pink or white, and that she isn’t a blonde. I have to admit it does get a little boring seeing her look the same all the time lol! But I also think it was smart to put Artemis in silver!
