I don't do fan art very often, but I did this image a little while back when I was watching Ghost In the Shell Arise. Just my personal take on Major Mokoto Kusanagi. No post work.Hopefully I will finish up my home projects so I can get back to working on some new art soon. OMG I hate dry walling!

Major problem? a case for Captain Solution!
I didn't like Arise at all. Not only does it completely ignore Motoko's lovingly staged past in GitS SAC and replace it with a blunt story that can also be explained in two sentences. Also other backgrounds of the series are ignored and cheaply replaced. If I'm shooting a prequel for a series, it should go with it.

I liked the animation style mostly. The story was definitely lacking at times. I never read the manga, so I only have the 1995 anime to draw comparisons to. And it has been awhile since I have watch that one. I still haven't seen the Hollywood LAM. Kind of dreading my reaction to that one. They usually bastardize everything they touch. Look what they did to Star Trek.

Oh - the Hollywood adaption wasn't that bad. They left out all parts that could require to use your brain, but that's Hollywood for you.
And Scarlett Johansson looked hot in that combat suit

Maybe I'll give it a watch. I do like Scarlett Johansson, she is a beautiful woman. Although I thought she was an odd casting choice. I always imagined the Major was Japanese and looked to be like eighteen to early twenties. I guess you can take some liberties going from manga/anime to live action. I am still seriously upset about what they did to Star Trek. James T. Kirk doing extreme sports on a motorcycle. Hollywood please! His job is to punch aliens in the face while telling them he is not a threat, having his shirt torn in the process and then getting it on with alien women. At least they kept the alien women part. There wasn't near enough dramatic pauses though. Where did that hack go to acting school! Certainly not the William Shatner school of acting.

I think, going from an Anime/Comic to a real life medium is problematic in general - at least if you know and are accustomed to the original (see Valerian... )
Agreed on Star Trek - you definition is quite spot on . It seems to have come to just another action setting. Oh, all those alien females left unsatisfied....
(Although - you can't watch TOS nowadays without constantly cringing...

TOS is at least better then all of the other TV shows from that era. So much ignorance and overall badness.
