This won third place in the popular vote section in 's contest!
Ehh... this took forever... the detailing killed my hand... And I stop working on all other drawings just so I could finish this. Excuse their hands, they looked fine before I colored them and now, especially his, they look bad... I really need to practice coloring hands... joy... lol

This is beautiful!! It actually reminds me a lot of King Enkil and Queen Akasha from Anne Rice's Vampire Cronicles series ('those who must be kept')- the original egyptian vampires

What is it about the ancient Egyptians? That's so beautiful, and inspiring? It's more than the way they dress, or their culture and religion... It's something even more beautiful... And you manage to show it in your work!

Well... they were also very modern... the women had much more rights than in any other culture at that time... I don't know... people were even entranced by them in their day. I just love looking at them

Beautiful, and you are truly skilled with those coloured pencils. I on the other hand can be quite hopeless that the drawing ends up being ruined DX
Looking at this makes me want to go back to fininshing off my Egyptian drawing of Nephthys, Osiris and Isis.....but Isis is causing problems for me so it could be awhile

hehe That happens to me, actualy right now.. I have to draw three people and one is giving me a hard time... so its taking longer than I would like

Yeah I tend to use pastel pencils (ones I'm actually good with), but sadly they go blunt so easily, and I haven't got a suitable sharperner for them, since the standard one is to rough on the pencils.
Ohh ok, what three people you drawing then? (If you don't mind me asking)
For me, Isis, I'm trying to have mirror her sister, since both are on either side of Osiris, but she insists on been drawn on a larger scale (which does not look right, but can't seem to get her to level with the other two). I guess she thinks she is better then the other two, to insist on being drawn larger in scale XD

Ehh, that's not good. Have you tried looking online to see if they sell a sharpener made for the pastel pencils?
Three super hero-like(more like villians) characters of a watcher here on DA, and she wants them to have the likeness of three actors, which is difficult to get.
hehe That's one of the problems I'm having, I have to re-draw one of the guys because he's too big for the others. That's the hard thing about drawing more than one person in the same pick, getting them all the right size

No its not good, I have searched online for pastel pencil sharpeners, but I must be looking at bad offers, on ebay, most at one point were listed at least $30.....expensive for one sharpener O_O, haven't searched since (plus I'm not for buying online).
I think with my drawing in scale issue, I might do certain shading around Isis, to make her appear smaller (without having the shading overpower her completely). Or I hope for the best, nobody notices.
Well hopefully we both will be able to deal with our own scale issue, so we may share our art with our fellow deviants.

Oh... wow, that's a lot for a sharpener... Uumm.. Have you tried the art site Dick Blick[link] they ussually have decint prices... but I don't know if they have what you need... Yeah, I prefer going to the store, I was so happy that a Micheals moved in close to where I live.
That sounds cool, expirimenting always a good idea, even if you fail you always learn something. Yes, I hope so
