Did you use a particular map projection?
NASA has an awesome program that lets you switch projections using at input image and the projection from the original (www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/gproje⦠)

I think the normal Mercator one.

In my opinion, the most accurate and canon map of Nirn.

Did you do this in Fractal Terrains, and them import into CC3+?

No , this was made all in photoshop and I used realistic surface heightmaps.

Interesting enough how much is told about the islands surrounding Tamriel and Akavir, though Lyg is almost a complete mystery, since it's meant to be a dimensional counterpart to Tamriel. Would love to see a mod or expansion go into the mostly undefined lore of Lyg.

I like that interpretation of Akavir a lot better. It has a familiar look to South-East Asian regions, which much of the culture there is supposed to look like.

Yes but Alikr is too small and it could also be a temperate or cold desert , but the whole climate of Tamriel might just be magic as it doesn't make much sense according to the scale .

Keep in mind that this whole world seems to operate because of the Daedric Princes. So, if there is 'magic' at work, it is likely because of their meddling.

Nice work on the oceanic rift faults and the cartographic projection.Β It looks like the Red Mountain, by being far away from plate boundaries, is a shield volcano.Β Aldmeris seems to be very seismically active, being on what seems to be a convergence of three plates like Japan is on Earth.Β It also seems you gave Nirn the same axis tilt as Earth's, judging from where you set the polar circles and tropics.Β I missed the Alik'r Desert, that would appear as Mars-like reddish patch of land in Hammerfel.

What are those island's in the Sea of Ghosts? Like "Issgard", "Roscrea" and such? I only recognize Solstheim so I assume the other's are from some kind of fanon or fanfiction? Regardless, the map looks really good!

Good job! This is awesome I love fantasy mapping, and have made a similar map of the Legend of Zelda's Hyrule.

I noticed that too.Β With such small continents, Nirn would experience a very stable and hotter overall climate, even in the polar regions.Β Β The recent (geologically speaking) global cooling that resulted in Atmora freezing and permanent snow in the Throat of the World can be explained by the equivalent of Milankovitch cycles in Nirn's solar system.
