Since ~PyroAxel was drawing quite a few drawings in super speed on my oekaki board ([link] ), I tried a speed CG myself.
*Mitzuke 's KFC, Dorus was once randomly doodled in my finals notes... but since it's so bad, I replace it with this one.
I tried to recreate the scene she made in a page in her comic ([link] )
Since this was a nightmare... for some reason I thought I'd make it all scratchy. So I left my sketch layer up.
90 minutes. Not too bad I guess.
But I "cheated" (as some would say) with Burn/Dodge tool.

XD I didn't know what the Mask tool did until I read that! Excellent work, it inspires me to try to do my shading the the burn tool again as I was too impatient for it before... Looks time-travellish, you know like someone who came back in time and is an older version of themself and has some cryptic warning or instruction for their younger version?

Yep yep. It's a nice tool that's essential for PaintBBS, it's pretty much like another layer.
Burn and dodge is relatively easy to use.. but just doesn't always get you the colors you want.

XD well do you use a mac? because I don't. Apple products instantly die when I touch them so I use a dell laptop, though I DID make sure it wasn't the model of dell laptop that explodes into fire o.o

Ah, well I haven't upgraded to Vista yet... Think I'll wait 'till they work out all the bugs or come up with something better.

OH gosh no. I'm not using Vista for a LONG time... that thing is too resource hungry. It came with my new laptop and it lags. I had to uninstall and insert all the XP drives.

I was checking my messages this morning, kinda rushing through them all. I saw the picture for only a second and my stomach did a flip. XD
Even if its sketchy or done quickly, its just as awesome as the Pandora picture you did a couple months ago. I hope that doesn't offend you, since you took longer and probably put more effort in that picture than this one. <__<;

It looks good to me, though you should have remeoved the planning lines, but the Oekaki programs only have like 2 layers so I guess that would be hard XD

Nah, I left it on there on purpose.. to keep a sketchy feeling. Since it was a nightmare. XD
Burn pretty much means.. what would happen if you "burn" that color. So it's great for shading dark. Dodge is adding light or something. It's great when you want to make like a neon light effect.
But it's SO easy to do... and some whine about it since it's not really "skillful."

Programs like PaintBBS only allows two layers. Same with ShiPainter basic, I believe.

Yeah, that only gives you two layers.
You can mask colors though. It's almost like a layer. Mask "black" and then you can't color over anything black.

Yep. Give it a try. Make sure you have it set at the same color. If the RGB was 0 0 0 and it suddenly becomes 0 0 1 it is no longer masked.

I have no idea what you mean. XD I'm new to oekaki stuffs, so I'll have to get used to some of these things. I just now learned how to use the curve tool. It's different than from what's on Paint, so It confused me a lot. o_o
