That was on purpose it would seem, the inspiration of the style was from Madoka Magica as it was felt appropriate for Discord to create a land after that of a witch's barrier.

Thank you! Madoka was the direct inspiration for this. The mixed-media style of the labyrinths evokes this creepy, chaotic feeling that seemed perfect for Discord's world.
