It's not a photo. I've seen a lot of Nadar's tutorials, and they paint everything from scratch. A lot of people falsely claim that it's manipulations without having seen the tutorials.Β

Can you confirm if this is actually entirely from scratch, or is it a mixer-brush paintover?
The hairs are too identical to the original reference image for me to believe it's not a bit of photomanipulation and overlaying.

I also bought the tutorial. Yes, totally from scratch. They edited the ref a bit, then painted on a new canvas presumably using the ref as a ref (can't see it on the recording)
