Very nice design. But I have to ask: Why is the female in white and the male in black?

Because they're supposed to represent yin and yang, so... black and white? 8D

Yeah, but why is the male black, the colour that represents the passive, cold and feminine, and the female white, the colour that reprsesents the active, warm and masculine?
Is it a statement about gender or something?
Or am I merely trying to find symbolism where there is none?

Yeah, I have the same question too essentially. Yin-the black-is actually feminine. Yang-the white- is masculine. So, why are they switched?

I think you are xD this was more supposed to be light and dark, good and evil I guess? and nothing else xD

In Asian culture, mostly Chinese, Yin is the female and Yang is the male. This artwork, however, depicted the Yin-and-Yang philosophy in a way different from the norm. I can't say it is wrong (because self-expression is not a crime), but this is plain new to me.
Kudos to the artist!

Ying-Yang.... Duh, do you even know what that is?

Of course.
I was merely wondering why the female was white, the masculine colour, and the male black, the feminine colour, and if that had some symbolic significance.
I could have worded the question better.

Ah, okay. I thought no one could've been that clueless. I briefly considered that you might've been referring to gender-wise. I'm guessing it's the artist's random choice.

this is truly amzng!! you should seriously consider making this available as a print. i love the ways that the yin & yang characters are obviously opposites yet strikingly similar. an angel-like inocent looking girl in white, and a demonic vampire boy in black. one of the best pieces of art ihave seen on DA in a while.
(i cant write critiques because i dont have a premium membership but i just wanted to tell you that ^^)

No, I'm afraid I can't ;u; The commissioner is pretty protective over this.
But omg, thank you very much <3 ;A;

Iยดm... I'm really trying to just think of some form of critique but all that would end up in that box would be praise ;_____;
This is just so beautiful. I love how they nearly are glowing, it looks so haunting yet divine. I love how you drew the more "Crackled" parts of their clothing, while also being able to draw soft flowing clothing beautifully as well <3
