Khalfani had enough of the yelling and complaining even before it began. He didn't know what had set his sister Khalil on yet another rant, but he was ready to put his paw down. More than ready.
"This conversation is over," he said, as calmly and collected as his frustration would allow.
Khalil's eyes widened and she reared her head back, reminding Khalfani of the spitting cobras that occassionally slithered their way into their kingdom's territory. "What do you mean, 'over'?!" She cried, sounding just as frustrated as he was - only she showed it.
"You heard me," Khalfani said. He turned on his heels and walked away down the sand dune. He repeated himself anyway. "This conversation is over."
"I'm not finished yet, Khalfani!" she screamed behind him. "Get back here!"
Khalfani didn't answer. He knew that his parents would never allow her to rule at his side, as was her right, if she continued such disgraceful behavior. He would speak to her - and his parents - later. Yes. He would do that. When Khalil was in a better mood.

Her name is Khalil ("sincere friend" in Swahili; oh the irony ) and she is NOT a pleasant lioness. At least not all the time. When she doesn't get what she wants, she throws a tantrum until she does, or is at least satisfied that she's caused misery to whoever "wronged" her. She was to rule at Khalfani's side, but... that never came to be. She had a falling out with her family and ran off to the jungle, befriending the jungle pride and marrying their King. And, yes, she is the mother of Rehema and his brother. She is also Sarabi's aunt.
Thanks again, Rinja! This gal is certainly a fun character to draw! The poses of this pic were inspired by my little sister, by the way.
