Zuzu can be a bit annoying at times to the royal family (and Uru when she was a cub), but she only wants to help, and tries to do her utmost best at every task. She originally served King Mohatu and now serves his son King Ahadi. Her son Zazu will later serve King Mufasa and King Simba.

And (finally) here is Zuzu's ref sheet! I love her.

Believe it or not, I really couldn't draw hornbills for the life of me when I started "Betrothed". But when it came time to draw Zuzu, she just sort of... came out just right. I was so happy! Anyway, this is my take on Zazu's mother, with a few design elements that were inspired by 's version in her comic "Missing Pieces".

Well, I don't mean it like that, but yeah, that would help. xD I mean, have you seen how badly Zuzu gets treated in the movie? Mufasa allows Simba to pounce on him, which realistically, that should of killed Zuzu. Or if he did survive somehow, a lot of his bones would of been broken since bird bones are very hollow and fragile.

That's ZAzu, actually. But, yeah... I have my own little theory about that. And it's not that Zazu was treated BADLY. I mean, aside from the pouncing scene and the "Morning Report" song that was included in the 2004 DVD release (which I REALLY didn't like), what else happens to Zazu that wasn't Scar or the hyena's doing?

Oops. xD My bad, lol. And yeah, true enough. When Scar smacked Zazu and he hit the cliff side, again, that should of killed him, if not instantly kill him. But eh, its a cartoon, its kind of hard to show a lot of logic in cartoons. xD

Or the "birdie boiler"? Or Scar "eating" him? LOL Zazu (and most Disney cartoon birds) are NOT realistic. Like how Zazu spontaneously "grows" teeth when he needs to cringe? Yeah, Zazu's been in PLENTY of situations that would have killed a real bird. Never underestimate the power of the hornbill!
