Swampkit was brought to camp with his littermates (Chirpkit and Fringekit) by his mother Frozenstar, whom refused to talk about their origin so he grew up not knowing who his father is. After Wolfrock received a prophecy ( the medicine den turning into a swamp), he took on Swamppaw as an apprentice however Swamppaw struggled to form a strong bond with his mentor. During leaf-bare Swamppaw struggled heavily with the biting cold getting afflicted with the shivers leaving Frozenstar and Wolfrock decided it would be best for him to be confined to camp for the season.
