Description Well, this is what I managed to produce for my exam! It's an A2 sized pencil drawing of one of my shells. It took me around 8 hours to complete.


...I'm absolutely exhausted after completing this. I have a headache from looking down on it, and my hand also hurts.
Well, at least it's done. I hope I did alright.

I had 12 hours of exam time...and was feeling pretty worried that I wouldn't finish the drawing in time. I think that worrying kinda made me work fast, if you know what I mean!

Yeah, I was so relieved!!! I just put my head down on the table for a while, closed my eyes.........and then remembered that I still had time to kill. I just had to work in my sketchbook, which wasn't so bad.

This is just absolutely beautiful, you've done a cracking piece here. The details and highlights are done to an incredibly high standard, the shading on the very edge of the shell where it looks rather 'sharp' against the softness/more natural looking shading seen in other parts of the shell is only thing I would suggest being the only downer. For 8 hours work and it being an A2 sized drawing, I cannot really fault it at all.

I see exactly what you mean about the sharp shading on the edge! I've no idea why I did that really... Thanks for pointing it out to me. Whilst I cannot fix it now, it's still good for me to know about it so that I don't make the same mistake in a future drawing.
