Now onto Hillenburg's planned final season, this season is the middle compared to Season 1 & 2. Where it's not as riddled with problems as the 1st season, but isn't as good as the 2nd.

Season 3 was IMO when cracks were beginning to show in Spongebob as even the creator himself didn't want the show to jump off the shark (Thanks a lot, Nick) & rightfully so, the 3rd season plots suffered a contiguous line of padding issues & plots with little to no structure.

What would I say about the animation? It still held up a bit, albeit a bit worse compared to the 2nd season, but it retains the organic look on Spongebob's design.

Many Spongebob fans complained that Season 4-Present was when the flanderization was beginning to sink its claws in Spongebob, but I'd argue that the flanderization existed even as early as the 2nd season; but was manifesting by season 3 when Spongebob became ridiculously clueless or naive.

(Ex: As seen on TV, when Spongebob assumed he was a star to the point when he ignores his job, extremely out of character in a painful episode full of filler.)

Was Season 3 a bad season with all the negativity I've preached? No.

Season 3 had upheld memorability that I enjoyed, yes it did aged a bit for me, but episodes in the A to S tier (Krusty Krab training video) still withstood as by far the best Spongebob episodes; executed with hilarious humor while remaining more experimental on the creativity that brought Spongebob to life.
