can you put a tutorial on how to do the blade

Nanaga In reply to blazephoniex [2013-04-15 04:17:05 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to make a tutorial for the blade, but it pretty much follows the same steps as the claws, just using different shapes.

Gungrave1001 [2013-01-13 00:34:05 +0000 UTC]

This was extremely helpful. I used this to make mine. I tweet it a little. Keeping the fingers on was one of the harder parts of the project. But anyways thanks.

Nanaga In reply to Gungrave1001 [2013-01-13 10:57:03 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, my method of putting the fingers on in this tut isn't the best way to do it. I'm glad the tutorial helped you get started on making the claws!

Gungrave1001 In reply to Nanaga [2013-01-14 00:34:11 +0000 UTC]

Yea i used a lot of hot glue and a little liquid nail. I finished it i while ago but wanted to go back and do the veins the way u did. i had to finish it on the fly because of Halloween. I ended up painting them on.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.... I'm hoping to get a Mercer Jacket for Christmas (but i haven't done any shopping on my own... damn i need to catch up), and i would love to thank you for this way to make the claws. My friends and i plan to run around New York dressed up like him and maybe some other super heroes... when and if we do i will make sure to post it somewhere and send you a link as thanks.

Sounds awesome! I hope a Mercer jacket turns up for you for Christmas! Have fun building the claws and have a blast running around as Mercer with friends - I've always wanted to do that but never got the chance to.

kiodaywow In reply to Nanaga [2012-12-16 19:47:16 +0000 UTC]

It's going to be allot of fun, hopefully we cause a lot of ruckus... and Marry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah. Over all Happy Holidays! Also I'm also going to try to replicate the blade, whip, and strong arms by painting hulk arms black. It's going to be great!

Nanaga In reply to kiodaywow [2012-12-16 19:56:53 +0000 UTC]

Haha, at least parkour around the city - that in itself would be a ton of fun as Mercer. And thank you for the holiday greetings! Happy Holidays to you, too!
Wow! If you manage to tackle all of Mercer's weapons... that's impressive!

kiodaywow In reply to Nanaga [2012-12-16 21:47:28 +0000 UTC]

Yea well without you wisdom I would have never been able to tackle this soon to be project.( if it happens) our original idea was to buy two pairs of hulk gloves one for the power fists and one for claws... Stupid!!

Would paper mache be as effective as covering the entirety in tape?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nanaga In reply to LukeMolica [2012-06-07 04:31:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, most likely. It'd probably be more durable than tape - the tape kinda peels off after a couple uses.

LukeMolica [2012-06-07 02:41:28 +0000 UTC]

You think paper mache could substitute covering it in tape?
