ohhh, some are gorgeous. Blue-cream points like the one I have are really pretty, but there are some calico ones that are really different (unfortunatley they're also like $600!!)
Some persians are reallly, not that cute. I went to a cat show once and there was a persian that I literally laughed out loud at.
