I'm working on a new pic that is related to this one... It is from the forest floor... I have a rough draft in my scraps entitled, the Prince and Steed at the Castel... dumb name, but it's just a whip

I rolled out a few more pics related to the new one... they'er in my scraps... I was playing around with lighting, and adjusting models... the horse and rider are out untill I can get the background closer to complete.

Thanks for the praise

Awesome as per usual. I bet it took forever to render all those trees... Not to mention all the detail. I love your colors here, and, as always, the MASSIVE enviornments. Keep up the great work man!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NAngel1298 In reply to bladeangel-neo [2004-11-01 14:03:13 +0000 UTC]

Take a closer look.... the trees are an illusion.... they are ground noise... spikes on a 3D mountain textured with light and green spots... I tried trees and grounded out my computer before I even got to the render stage... The illusion worked

bladeangel-neo In reply to NAngel1298 [2004-11-01 14:19:38 +0000 UTC]

Now that's a very creative touch... If I had known of that technique back when I did renders do you know how much time it would've saved me? Or even the possibilities that I were never able to do? *slaps self on forehead* Dangit man! Where were you when I needed you eh? You should've signed up to DA sooner!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NAngel1298 In reply to bladeangel-neo [2004-11-01 15:41:54 +0000 UTC]

I wish I had known about DA sooner...... I like DAZ contests, but thier sight is geared towards selleing you thier product.... No Artist conections... and Renderosity is so huge that the artists never connect or even make friends.... and too much filth on the site... if you don't do nudity, you rarely get noticed.

My experiance is yours to tap

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bladeangel-neo In reply to NAngel1298 [2004-11-01 16:42:26 +0000 UTC]

lol I feel the same way about DA that you do about Renderosity, but its not as bad here so long as you watch what you do anyways. But yeah, DA is a great place for artists to connect and bounce ideas off each other and learn and etc.

I would tap your experiance, but I don't do much in the way of renders anymore... I got extremely fed up with it and started honing my PhotoShop skills more and more. Poser is close to an unholy abomination, Bryce is only good IF you have massive amounts of patience, and 3DS is actually good if you have the time to learn and model everything by hand. Unless I'm wrong... lol

But anyways, you keep up the impressive work! Sorry for rambling...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NAngel1298 In reply to bladeangel-neo [2004-11-01 17:36:22 +0000 UTC]

Well... I had to learn everything myself... I had the time after the divorce, and only get the kids on the weekends... so I had the time to read and play around with the programs... it took my mind off lifes issues. I rarely have to build something new, having an extensive library of obj already... now, it's just painting....

Poser isn't so bad if you have good models, and lots on computer memory to work with... my problem is, that I have so much content, that it takes me hours just to find the componants for my pick... I've had to resort to using the computers search features to find out where my items are located.... I'm sure that there are alot of people who wish they had that problem

Now that's rambling

bladeangel-neo In reply to NAngel1298 [2004-11-01 17:42:05 +0000 UTC]

lol I *sort of* have to do that with all my music, psd files, writings, and tutorials I tend to research. Sometimes its a pain, but at least you have resources, no? lol I tend to recycle my planets and some logo-ish designs. So I keep them around, not to mention random effects I stumbled across while experimenting with filters. Its sad when you start measuring in gigs....and complain that you only have 9 gigs left on your hardrive...

btw I apologize for flooding your comments here....

Artistic Banter is not flooding it's release, and better when shared.. you find that your not alone in the stress of it all

bladeangel-neo In reply to NAngel1298 [2004-11-01 17:58:02 +0000 UTC]

true... and since I know most of the programs you use, I can say that you're probably in need of a lot of release from the stress and frustration caused by some of them

This is so beautiful, except loose the guy in the balcony. He sort of disrupts the whole peacfullness.

NAngel1298 In reply to vozzz [2004-10-31 17:07:22 +0000 UTC]

Well... I'm not keen on having the guy, but I needed extra leverage with DAZ product for the contest..... I'll post a pick in my scraps... I know you'll like but it's not quite finished, mostly because the rendertime is about 2 months.... I can't live that long without a computer

I used to act... sing... even tapdance... I miss it. My world got filled with my kids, work, and responsibilities galore. I guess I traded away my youth for adulthood. I still sing in a church choir, and we did a Christmas pagent... I stoled the show... I have been told I am an awesome singer I just like to sing... doesn't sound real manly does it...

I also write poetry and short stories, although poetry, for me, takes real emotion... I don't think I want to write about loneliness all the time, I don't have many moment in my life now worth a sonnet.

I also did non digital art too... No Space or money to afford mistakes... paper and pencil are cheep, but clay, paint, and canvas might as well be plated in gold.

And yes you have real tallent... you have artistic vission and share that through your works... don't scoff because it comes easy to you. The color you choose... line... form, it all denotes character and emotion... it's a part of you... and that makes your art... and that is why I appreciate it so much

I use a series of programs that use 3D objects created with one of the programs, 3D Studio Max, and some of the objects are purchased from DAZ. The basic Guy and the birds are purchased. I enhanced them both using Poser to pose and morph them to look I wanted, and Photo Shop to alter color, design, and texture.

In reality. It's like sculpting the world, adding bits here and there, adjusting and adding lights, photgraphing it, developing, and then touching up the pic to get the effects you want.....

It's much more involved than painting, photography, and sculpting put together. Sometimes you can get the effect you want in a few hours, Other times it takes weeks...

I use to paint with acrilycs and oils. You could never get the effects you can with a computer... I have done animations, made my characters talk... I have even added things to games, such as Morrowing and Halo that have made them whole new worlds to experience....

My dream is to program my own worlds in Virtual Reality... we'll see

I've been alone for 6 years now... I've dated a little, but I have 3 kids, and a lot of responsibilities... There is no one who wants a guy with that kind of baggage... and I have pretty much have accepted my fate. I have a lot of friends, so, irregardless of my lack of romance in my life, I'm still pretty happy...

Anyway... I'm rambling now...
