Description
Well to explain this further you'd have to know a bit of my childhood. I grew up being told I was fat and that I had to lose weight and be skinny to be beautiful. My parents were good to me but that was their only flaw. They always wanted me to be someone I wasn't. I have a curvy body and my mom, despite blaming my eating habits, never truly started me off by feeding me the right foods I was supposed to eat growing up to prevent me from being over weight so I have to change my whole lifestyle to make it happen.Anyway, I'm very self conscious cus my parents always told me I wasn't good enough to keep or get a guy. They always told me I had to be perfect looking and skinny lol. So when I went shopping for clothes and I couldn't fit in a pair of jeans I broke down XD. I'm such a cry baby. So that's what my bf told me.

Your Boyfriend needs to be CLONED!!! You are one lucky girl!! And I think your PARENTS need a lot of back talk from YOU. No one that does that to their child...should get away with it. We all love our parents...even when they are so misguided that they think putting down/degrading, their own children is like an Olympic SPORT. Giving them a little SAND in their face..would be satisfying. Tell them FLAT OUT that you like yourself the way you are. And if they tell you that you are wrong...or shouldn't ...then you tell them that the GREY in their hair...or lack OF HAIR...is so unflattering. NO ONE likes having the ugly facts of AGING being pointed out to them. >; D

My dad used to do that too. Casually making comments about my weigth and that I should thrive to be a little lighter even though IΒ΄m not even overweight. But I got it to stop by sitting down with him and explaining that his jabs didnΒ΄t help at all, that they were hurting me and making me feel miserable. Fortunately he understood and those comments stopped.
Fitting in a pair of jeans... I feel your pain. Thought my problem is that the sport I do has earned me pretty good muscles in my thighs (look up speedskating and see for yourself some examples) and its always such a depressing feat to try and find jeans that fit me.
Either they are perfect on my thighs and too big on my hips or they are too small in my thighs and perfect on my hips...
It sucks and doesnΒ΄t help my self esteem at all.

Ahhh... Real guys cannot be that perfect. To say all the right things at the right time. Are you sure you didn't snatch the only one in the world? And now rub it in our unfortunate faces... Well, I'm really happy for you, good guys are hard to find. Your parents on the other hand... I've struggled with weight myself all my life and I know my parents would like to see me skinny and beautiful. But they would never put me down like this. I can't say that about my boyfriend though. I've gained weight since we started dating and now he never misses the opportunity to remind me of that. He became a health nut for a while, was exercising all the time and all he could talk about was working out. Not to mention I was on the receiving end of all kinds of snide remarks. But then he stopped exercising and gained weight himself, hehe. I've never made fun of him though.

Been in the exact same situation.. except it was my mom that was the one to always degrade me and tell my husband he deserved better then a fat ass like myself. My problem was more from steroids that was in my asthma medicines when I was a child... so I have slightly chunkier legs then most females... Its also alot harder to get rid of weight cause from medicines then it is from foods cause it takes triple the amount of exercise and that becomes difficult because of my asthma flaring up if I exorcize more then a little under an hour a day.

I know the feeling about the whole situation, it sucks.
I'm happy though that someone tells you that you're beautiful and that they love you.
