Tutorial Time Episode 1?
4 or 5 people suggested I do a coloring tutorial [in Flash]. I wanted to animate the tutorial from the get-go, but didn't have any ideas of how to make it entertaining. I had a different idea and the audio already recorded (basic spoken instructions with some bad jokes thrown in) but I hated it. Anywho, on the way home from work, nothing was on the radio, so I started playing with the "I am T-pain" app on my iphone, picked the "bartender" track and improvised the audio in this Flash. After that I just did some [very] limited animation with the screenshots I had for the text version of the tutorial that got scrapped.
tl;dr version: I freestyled the song in the car and drew pictures to it.
I'd like to do more animated tutorials. Any ideas? Don't worry, I don't HAVE to sing in them
I'll have to redo that intro so I can use it on non-flash tutorials.

Just wanna point out that darkening the colors manually is better for performance than using alpha layers. This is especially important if you have a lot of shading and are making a game or a movie with a high frame rate. You can use the same technique with the pencil tool but do it on the layer with the colors and then select the parts you wanna darken and drag the brightness down in the color panel. In CS4 you can click the drop down menu in the upper right of the color panel to switch from RGB to HSB (hue/saturation/brightness) in case you wanna set the brightness to an exact number. I have it on HSB mode all the time. Using alpha layers may be easier, but may ultimately turn out to be bad practice.

I definitely don't recommend any of my tutorials for any animation except maybe short gifs. They're all aimed at just drawing still images in Flash.

Same here and it makes even coloring look a lot easier and nicer then to adjust everything as it is and as some said that it also goes for photoshop and such with the right tools.
