Description [ sutton park series #1 ]

I went to Sutton Park (North of Birmingham) last weekend with *nuozek and *bmuda . Such a huge park. Pretty beautiful. But lotsa assholes around the town centre.

I used ALOT of filters for this shot

1. Lemon Filter
2. Circular Polarizer Filter
3. 6x ND Gradual Filter
4. 4x ND Filter
5. G5 Built-in ND Filter

And of course, a Tripod

Pretty cool results eh?
Hope you enjoy it guys

oh, you can buy the filters here: [link]
(although i bought them at the photo exhibition).

ps. Sorry bout the watermark

I think you came away with a really nice 'aged' look to the photo - the lemon filter has cast some nice tones and glows across the picture and the polarizer has made things feel solid and rich. I'm not quite sure what the ND filters have done here - I don't see any transitions etc - what did the original view look like?

All in all this is great - I like the simple view. You've then taken that and added something incredibly special to it. Nice experimentation!

thanks for the comment mate

The ND Filters are to reduce the brightness. I was trying to achieve the "Smooth" water. And believe me it wasnt smooth at all (very very windy) when i was there. So it required longer exposure to achieve that. And since it was such a bright day, there's no way to get it without reducing the brightness.

how do i explain bout the ND gradual filter and why you guys didnt notice it.

see.. this ND Gradual filter (Cokin style) it's actually quite a big filter (or TALL is probably the right word). So basically, although it's gradual, it doesnt mean like the top half will be darker and the bottom half will still be bright.

since it's quite a big filter you can still choose which part of the gradation you want to use. Thats why you didnt notice it. The gradual between the top and bottom wasnt that much different for this pic.

i hope i make sense here

thanks alot for the comment mate

Ah! That makes perfect sense now - I automatically looked for the defining line of the ND filter and forgot how big they actually are

Thanks for clearing that up

wow that's a lot of filters to stack on...how did you decide which filters to use? I really love how the water looks. so.....silky looking. and the coloring, with i'm guessing the lemon filter, looks interesting. kind of reminds me of what the sky looks like after a fire. anyway, nice.

FOR SHAME ANDRE

FOR SHAME.

This shot's OK, but it's kinda just..just a picture of two trees that's been tinted yellow...it's not as good as your other stuff.

Wait, three trees.

lol

sorry riaz

i was using my new phone

only a few phone numbers at that time, i havent copied the phonebook from the old one. I dont know if we want to come back to Sutton Park. There were a bunch of punks were staring at us, looked like they're either going to beat us up or rob us. lol. But nothing happened at the end, cause we ignored them.

Still.. very shameful. It ruined the beautiful day.

We're bout in Sutton do u guys live?
