Description
Introducing one of my OC's! I've gone through several designs, this is closer to the final one. You can see here I'm just playing with colour. This isn't his finished gas mask design and the shape of his head is wrong around his chin, but yar...Meet Ed!Time taken: -
Tools: Bamboo 0.5 mechanical pencil, Wacom tablet and Photoshop

Ah, this was very early concepts. I was playing with the idea that he did that to encourage young patience to wear the mask if they needed to, that he made it look fun. And also, I thought that he could perhaps use it to cover his face as part of his disguise later in the story after meeting Cara.

I like his silhouette, it's very human and non-threatening as was pointed out by Sparksfly down there. The eyes are the coolest part to me, they have a bit of an emoticon feel to them. Does he communicate emotions in a similar way to 
He seems rather happy which reminds me a lot of the Yes Man robot from Fallout New Vegas. I'm imagining him having that kind of personality.

Thanks for the comment, I am working on his emotional sheet actually! He can convey a lot of emotions as his mask is removable, there is a reason to why I drew him wearing it, but I will reveal that hopefully sometime soon!

Great concept! I like how you added different color concepts, too. He looks nonthreatening but he also looks mysterious because even with the gas mask, you can't tell if he's human or mechanical. Well, YOU can tell...

Yes I shall, I plan to try and do something with this characters story so going to need the reference! Also have another character I'm designing atm, planning to post up artwork of them shortly along with some sneak peek concepts!
