A lone cabin, sorrounded by amazingly vibrant fall color is revealed as a major fall snow storm begins to clear. As the clouds lose their grip on the Cimarron Ridge, the warm rays of the sun take over, melting most of this snow in just a matter of minutes.

Amazing colors Nate! If I may be a tad specific, I would have liked to see that fence post slightly more to the left.

i know me too. problem is if i moved anymore to the right that tree thats starting to creep into the right of the photo would kill the composition.. this was as far to the left as I could get it...plus the clearing snow happened so fast I didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to work on finding a way to get higher so that post wouldn't be so close to the cabin, but sometimes you just arent afforded that luxury

It does look better on the website with the dark background. Maybe we should get deviantart to allow us a choice of background color for our deviations.

I like the blending of Autumn and Winter here. It's like the two seasons are fighting. I don't think I've ever seen snow and autumn leaves simultaneously.

Reminds me of home...not that "home" ever consisted of a tiny little cabin in the woods like that. But I used to see such things every so often.

What a place to have a cabin. Unreal. Love the colors on those aspens contrasted with the snow. Only minor thing that is the slightest bit distracting is the snow covered branches creeping in on the right, but I'd really have to focus on that instead of the rest of this fine image.
