The now ghost town of Crystal, Colorado was founded in 1880. numerous silver mines were in operation here in the late 1800s and this was the mill that powered a mechanical air compressor for ore procesing. There is a 4 wheel drive trail that you can take to this mill thats about 10 miles round trip. We decided to hike the road instead. It ended up being a really really long day because it was a steady downpour of rain/snow the entire way there and back. I actually was glad it was raining and foggy though because i thought it would be a nice change from the sunny and blue sky photos you normally see from here. hope it was worth it!

I think I like this one more. The fall colors are such a dramatic background for this shot. I like that you can see the stream in the distance and the mist above the trees. Great work.

Gosh this is an amazing photo. From this angle it looks like that old little mill is about to topple right off those rocks. LoL. I definately like this picture more than the other one, even though every picture you take is stunningly beautiful ;Þ

Nice! I wish I coulda made it out to Crystal before the snow started yesterday. Now it'd be more misery than enjoyable. I'll have to remember next autumn.

This is a beautiful shot! I love how rain brings out the colours of the wood and the leaves, and the fog in the distance gives the whole thing a sort of "otherworldly" feeling. It's too bad it wasn't a more pleasant walk, but I'd have to say it was definitely worth it!

Woah, old places like that really creep me out but they fascinate me at the same time. You don't really get ghost towns in England (we're too small!). If it had been me I'd have been poking around inside that wooden hut thing in no time, and probably end up in the river lol. Anyway, really cool shot.
