I really enjoyed Flight to the Finish, but I guess I was hoping for a little more... drama than the series is able to show.Just playing around with a slightly different coloring technique.
Enjoy some nice inner conflict to roll in the new year! XP

I realize you're joking, but I would hardly say "she's over it". Rather she's found inner strength. She was able to overcome her self-worth issues for the task at hand, but it's not an issue that would go away that easily. I'm sure when everything is quiet and she has time to reflect privately, her inability to fly pains her deeply.Β

Scootaloo wants to fly, but she might never fly. What if her wings are just for show. But luckily for her, another flyer was also watching her. This flyer is more.......unique, she is a hybrid between a Unicorn and a Dragon. She possesses the power to shoot Rainbows from her horn. Her name is Whirlwind the Unicorn/Dragon hybrid.

Actually this episode had her first true admission in this regard.Β Before this it was always trying to emulate rainbow dash and the closest thing she ever had was trying to get RD to help teach her and it was never even phrased that way.Β To my knowledge she has never say gone to twilight sparkle and asked her to help with this.Β It doesn't seem in her nature to do this with flight which seems a lot more personal to her than her cutie mark even.Β It was apple bloom who TWICE tried to cheat to get her mark.Β Scoots doesn't seem the type to ask, pretty much.Β

The only thing that ticks me off about this show is how useless magic seems to be in situations like this.

Well, in her defense, she was only getting rid of the vampire fruit bats' desire to eat apples. They still had plenty of other fruit to go after (They're vampire FRUIT bats, not vampire APPLE bats).

True, but there are some ethical and moral considerations about brainwashing defenseless animals and removing a natural instinctive trait. I still think Applejack had the right idea of kicking the bats off the farm, but Twilight's solution was to play god. XP

Also, she did the exact same thing with the Parsprites in "Swarm of the Century," but no one ever complains about THAT.

It's just a teensy bit more forgiving because the town was being attacked and Twilight had to do something quick didn't have time to think. There's still a moral dilemma, but it wasn't a premeditated action like it was in Bats.
