Description

At first, Katie Ashe stood alone. As the superheroine Valkyria, she opposed the forces of organized crime, and the monsters of the underground, that had transformed Parthenon from the cultural capital of the Mid-Atlantic into a hive of villainy and enshrouded it in malaise. She fought alone, but she attracted the attention of the ordinary citizens. They noticed that someone cared enough to try to make a difference. They weren’t the only ones to notice. For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. When a great force of good appears, it will attract an equal and opposite force. If Parthenon had its own superheroine, it soon gained its own supervillains.

That was when a few ordinary citizens decided to stand with Valkyria. First was Katie’s mother Gayle, who knew about her daughter from the first day. She was soon joined by Amanda Darkmoon, her spiritual mentor, who brought magic into the fight. Not long after that, her uncle, Police Lieutenant Robert Ashe, brought his badge to her side. His daughter Jessica, joined her cousin with her mechanical skills. On their heels came Katie’s best buddy, electrical genius Jarred Graves, and the phenomenal Olympic gymnast Sherman Jones. Alandra del Gato and Teresa McIntyre, two thieves Katie captured, decided to switch sides and threw their formidable talents in for the forces of good. Finally, Katie’s little sister Stephanie was endowed with the powers of telepathy, and joined Valkyria as Parthenon’s second superheroine, Whysper.

Together, they are the Protectors of Parthenon.
