Due to the fact that my left arm is somewhat non-functional at the best of times, my teaset from intro was about two inches high. Someday I hope to reach this level of tiny.
Absolutely gorgeous paintjob, especially considering how small the brushes had to be.

with the white china -- can it be glazed and refired or are the designs painted on with model paints like what people painted model airplanes and ships with?

The white china that I sell is already glazed and is ready for painting with china paints. The painted china has all been hand painted by me with china paints. Each piece is fired multiple times. Some as many as 8-10 times. I wouldn't recommend painting with model paints.

Hello.
The bisque is fired to cone 4 then I fire the glaze to cone 5/6. The paints are fired to cone 016 down to 018 depending on the individual colors and the application.

that is so cute! 016 and 018! Sounds like a birthday candle firing! Do you fire them in a teeny kiln? they are absolutely beautiful and amazing!

considerably hotter than birthday candles to be sure. 016 is about 800C 018 is cooler only about 720C not sure of the Farenheit temperatures as I learned most of my firing stuff in C. Yes I do have a little kiln that I use primarily for the china paint. It takes quite a long time to paint these things and you want to fire them soon after you paint them so they don't collect dust and the like. So it makes sense to use a tiny kiln when you are painting tiny things. It takes far less of them to make it reasonable to fire it. The kiln I use for china painting is 6 inches cube inside. I also have an 8" cube kiln and an octagonal kiln that is about 10 wide and about 10.5 tall. I use the large kiln for most bisque and glaze firings as it heats more evenly and will actually get to a cone 6 temperature. The little kiln, although rated for cone 8 would never reach it. I fired bisque in it once and would never do it again. It took forever and barely made it to cone 6 plus it doesn't have a kiln sitter so you have to watch it.
Glad you like them.

I think so. I'll double check to be sure. I absolutely love miniatures. I went to Windsor Castle in England when I was a teen decades ago, and saw the Queen's doll house, complete with running Rollys Royce cars, faucets and plumbing throughout the house that worked, and every volume in the tiny library was actually a complete book with print. It was absolutely amazing!

This is exquisite! The only thing I'd suggest would be to include something for scale because it would make the detailing that much more remarkable. Wonderful work!
