Description This was done on 18" x 24" paper with soft pastel, ink, and a gold metallic marker. The image is based on a piece done by Yoshitaka Amano and was an assignment for one of my drawing classes this semester.

Sorry for the poor image quality--with the soft pastels I didn't feel comfortable putting this on the scanner bed, and my camera isn't the best in the world...

I completely agree. Originally I was going to use ink wash with some gouache mixed in, but since it was for a drawing class and not painting I opted for soft pastel. I still feel somewhat compelled to do this again using wet media, but it probably won't happen...

I love this piece. I looked at it the first time and thought: hmm that looks somewhat familiar. I love amano's work. You did an excellent job! :3 That metallic marker was a great idea

Thanks! I found out that Amano really liked Gustav Klimt's work, so I thought maybe I'd put the yellow aspects of the piece in gold (but maybe they are gold in the original--I'm not sure). I was a little worried about the choice at first, so I'm glad you think it turned out well!
