Hi, We had our first hard frost last night... got up to go Cat hunting, and found it to be a "Balmy 33 degrees" out at daybreak.... well, yeah didn't find any caterpillars or for that matter much else, so I took a couple of plant shots and went back home. I did get a few chores done, so the day wasn't a total loss....Related content

Yeah this early frost has stopped my "Macro Cat / bug" pics for the year! I went out this morning and found nothing..no bugs or caterpillars. I did find a cool Toad though.

How lovely George. Frost can be so beautiful. The leaves are really starting to turn here this week, although we haven't had a really hard frost yet, but we sure have had lots of rain all this spring, summer and now into fall which is causing all kinds of problems trying to haul our hay home. The land is just spongy from all the moisture.

Thank you Candace! Yeah my leaves are just starting to hint of a change, but all the swamp maples are bare...lost their leaves 2 weeks ago.
Yeah we could really use some rain, the dirt roads are like walking on flour...just dust about 1/2 inch deep! I need the rain to fill up my marshes...the water is so low that I can't use any of my blinds. the stream is basically dried up!

Yeah, way too soon.. but this year the weather has been really strange,,,,,cool for the most part, and wicked dry.I normally don't see this till mid October.
