Description Hi, went out for awhile today, and found a bunch of Juncos feeding along the field edge. This one was taking a break from the activity, and just warming up in the sunlight. I didn't stay out long as the winds picked up wickedly, and the sun disappeared behind some heavy clouds.I hope it will be a better day tomorrow, as I only have the weekends to go out an about at this time of the year.

Thank you Tony!

weather pattern is still messed up around here... only sunny when I have to work and really rotten when I can get out an about...I do like the fact we haven't had any really big storms so far, but give me at least one weekend a month with bright sun and no fricken wind!

Are juncos considered song birds?

Yes they are, and also one of my favorite winter birds. They don't hang around for the summer months. I love it when they show up in the late fall, and stay during the cold winter. They can be a shy bird, and sometimes tough to get close up shots of, but they look so neat when you get one.
