Description
Hi, Here's another shot of that Snapping Turtle hatchling I found today. This one is only the second one I've found so far this year. With the drought we've been experiencing, I have my doubts that very many of this years hatchlings will survive. Most of the places where the Mom turtle laid the eggs is totally dry,and the little ones have to travel a great distance to find some water. After shooting these 2 pics, I released it into the only pool of water by the bridge culvert. This should give this one a fighting chance to live a long life.Β It's not often you get to hold a Snapping turtle like this, without the fear of losing a couple of fingers!Β enjoy this tough little one.
