Description My Ork army has had a major revival as of late, i have decided to trade my power armour (temporarily ) for Choppas, Burnas and LOTS of them! To lead the horde, i needed a new warboss, my current one wasnt cutting it, litterally. So, instead of the Warboss with the uber-Dakka gun of doom, i opted for a more close combat orientated beast, keeping it based on the original Warboss (he's undergone a few.. upgrades). Now, he has a Bionic Arm (one Inititive 6 st 4 attack that automatically hits), Slugga, Choppa, Iron Gob (+1 Leadership), Eavy Armour (basic armour now 4+), Bionik Bonce (+1 to the armour save, is now 3+) and stands at a measily, and nasty 97 points. :3 Oh, the only original pices from the original warboss ( [link] ) is the Iron Gob, spikes on the left shoulder plate and the right shoulder pad. The thing im most proud about with this model is that ive managed to swap the Choppa from his left arm to his right, removing the gun, and making it look believable.

Orks is soooooo cheap!!! (choppas allow only 4+ saves!?)


yeah nicely painted! much better than anything I could do.....
I play necrons and I want to put them up on DA soon....

4+ only saves no longer apply in the new codex.. and no, they arent really that cheap, considering 6+ armour.

Interesing... I wanna know what you did to make the bionik arm... looks interesting... Plus I'd turn it into a Powerclaw to bash some Ead'z to bitz...

Ok, i cut off the hand from the end of the arm-band, and covered the arm band in plasticard to make a box. I then used plastic rod and paper clips (for strength) to make the pneumatics around the top of the arm, then chucked some smaller sword-like choppas on the front, made another box on the side out of plasticard for an ammo drum for his slugga, and done!

Personally, i prefer as many inititive attacks on a Warboss, as power klaws are..
1. Expensive in terms of points
2. Warboss is an independant character, meaning he can be targeted in close combat.
3. With Inititive 4, when you double it on a WAAAGH charge.. AWW YEAH.
4. Bionik Arm gives an Inititive 6 attack.. couple these with as many attacks as you can shove in to one model, its pretty damn awesome. No real need for Strength 10 attacks unless your up against, say, wraithlords, dreadnaughts and big Tyranids.

Cool. Nice work swapping the choppa to the other arm. Photo's a bit bright, but you did a nice job with the colours. Specially love the slugga..... gives the real meaning to why pistols can be used in CC.

Give him a Tankbusta bomb for 3 pts. Makes him a nusence to more things.

Currently I field 2 varients of a warboss.... one that's only 85 pts and the other at 111 pts.....

I usually leave him to go smash up guys, and leave the Nobz to break the tanks in close combat.. thats if they survive my zzap guns! *evil chuckle*. Though, 3 points can be good.. i'll give it a shot next time.

Well, I tend to field my warboss more as an annoyance than anything else.... so that 3 points means he can potentially crack the dread/tank/etc that he's running to. Found that 3 points really does go a long way.

Hmm... could do. I usually use this guy for combat support.. but yes, i guess it could come in handy. Some people keep telling me to give him a power klaw, but A) 25 points is quite a bit, and B) he'd be singled out in combat alot more.. rather lose 3 boyz than the warboss.

I only field the boss with the claw in large battles..... where 25 pts is less of an issue and the str 10 hits will be useful (VS tanks, monoliths, chaplins, daemon princes etc) Then again, I don't equip the boss with any serious shooting weapon.... So yes, I have 2 configs. One that is 85 pts and one that is 111 pts.

But I guess it's a personal preference thing.

Yeah, true.. have you looked into some magnets so you could swap limbs? My chaplain has a removable backpack to put a jetpack on, marine commander model has both changable arms, and im currently working on a Commisar who's left arm can be swapped between a powerfist and power sword.

Hey, cheers! Didnt work that much on the skin, but then again, i didnt dry-brush the skin like most of my other orks.. Took me a while to get his bionik arm right though.. he's also based off the older Warboss model, he'd on my DA aswell..
