Ah yup! Thanks to my rather abusive AR-15 doodlings back in high school~
But even there, I still need high resolution references nowadays when inking them digitally, especially for the markings and some other tiny detail.

That's awesome. I can't even draw a gun from a different angle without any reference...

Ah yep, that's quite tricky but once you remember the layouts, it gets easier. Like knowing where the safeties, ejection ports and etc are most likely to be.

I usually don't like drawing firearms alone, with nobody holding them.
But I'm glad you like it.

Fantastic! The M16 is perhaps my favorite rifle (A close second being the AKM) and yes, while I know this is an M4A1 I still love this, now my background. Could I trouble you to make a M16A1?

NDTwoFives In reply to Sachelman [2012-12-15 05:09:39 +0000 UTC]

I think I've drawn one sometime in the past

Well, I usually don't like posting standalone weapons, always like having them in the hands of someone hehe

For me, both an M-16 A4 and the M4A1 are my preferred weapons. The M4 is light, accurate, durable, and very great, especially for taking down bastards down range.

The A4 is longer and has the same characteristics as the M4, in my opinion. These guns get the job done and I don't say that about every gun. (Well, almost, if it works...)

And no, I did not get these from games... Just, don't ask...

NDTwoFives In reply to PeaceKeeperd [2012-11-26 18:18:19 +0000 UTC]

Don't forget that both M4 and M16A4 have a S-1-3 receiver.

Aye aye, either you are a serviceman or someone else in your family does.

And, I almost forgot about the S-1-3 reciever. XD

TheSourKraut [2012-09-14 23:43:26 +0000 UTC]

loath the m4. Its to light in my opinion. and its size and edges get it stuck on a lot of crap. i kept getting the rear sling clip caught in my mag pouches.

NDTwoFives In reply to TheSourKraut [2012-09-14 23:45:56 +0000 UTC]

Glad to hear that from someone who actually used it.
A4 all the way isn't it?

i dislike the A4 as well. Dam thing jams constantly.

i think i will start drawing the right side of firearms more often starting with my favorite rifle the m16. i think ive avoided it long enough.
well done friend!

Very good work on the details. If you keep uo practicing such doodles and sketches, they'll get easier to do and you will be making them faster.

But yeah when ever you're drawing a new gun, it's always good to have reference at hand.

NDTwoFives In reply to Panzerfire [2012-07-22 22:18:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! That's how it works, I find myself drawing the same thing again and again until I can do it from memory.

Very Nice i always mess up on delta ring and carry handle when ever i make an attempt to draw M4A1 Good work

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NDTwoFives In reply to ArcherTacticalOps [2012-07-16 23:40:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the carrying handle...I keep seen people drawing it at an awkward angle and sometimes, people completely forget about the delta ring.
My trick is is to make the carrying handle looking like a trapezoid before carving a rectangle out of it, not sure how to explain it well. e_e
