Description
Hmm color theory, quite possibly the most useful thing I have learned so far in two art semesters.Using the whole palette for certain elements definitely makes them much more lively~

No problem, bro! I could use many of your works a reference for my own drawings to get better.

Curiously, it takes me more to draw a lineart than coloring it. It's probably the practice I have.
You should do more colored projects and you will soon start making them faster and easier.

Well, back in the day, a coloring didn't took long for me either. But with new knowledge and little to no time to try them out, they usually end up all rushed into a single work for testing.
Ah yes, lineart is important of course, it's the base of a artwork. If you have the best coloring on a meh lineart, it simply won't work. I usually spend a good deal of time sketching until every looks right to me, well, let's just say that everything has been slowed down by school assignments and what not ._.

I think that it's still looking flat at a few spots XD.
But yeah, it's mostly about using darker and complementary colors that look strange at first sight. ^_^'

Yeah, it still bugs me from time to time since I draw and shade more often in grayscale~

Depends on what you're aiming for, realism usually requires a good amount of tones and unusual/complementary colors for a lively look.

Yeah I've already heard of the whole use of unusual colors like blue but never tested myself

It's mostly about using complementary colors to shade. At first, I thought that it was absurd to throw in some blue for the skin, but after one try or two, you'll see the magic of it.
