Looks sweet mate. The boots are a little odd but great job otherwise. Thanks for posting these to All-Military!

Pink mustaches are all the rage

Oh wait, just his mouth...

I'll just continue to pretend it is an unfortunately flat pink mustache, makes him more legit in my mind.

Oh yeah ^^ I need practice on drawing open mouths

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravajava In reply to NDTwoFives [2012-03-21 00:05:52 +0000 UTC]

Well, for one, you could try shaving off on the space inside of the mouth. Pink doesn't just create a wall there, you can see through the opening. You could try that. Maybe add some teeth as well

Thanks for the tips, I'll give a try for my next drawings

I love the sense of action here! Although for reloading, I was taught to keep the butt of the rifle braced against your shoulder, makes it way easier.

Streaked-Silver In reply to Pbohm [2012-03-21 02:52:42 +0000 UTC]

when you're running and you're in that crappy Interceptor vest, you do what you can to simply reload. XD

something tells me this fellow devil dog is more concerned with getting into Cover then he is proper Range stance.

Pbohm In reply to Streaked-Silver [2012-03-21 14:07:50 +0000 UTC]

His justification for doing it that way was it saves seconds when coming back on target, even while running. As for the vest, never shot or ran while wearing one, pretty uncomfortable I'd imagine.

Streaked-Silver In reply to Pbohm [2012-03-21 20:30:58 +0000 UTC]

you cant keep a rifle shoulders for crap when running in that one when you're just holding it with one hand. not to mention..you cant shoulder a weapon well while running all out period, yes i understand the point behind it. its my job after all, but running balls to the walls while shooting just means you're gonna miss all your shots any way

Pbohm In reply to Streaked-Silver [2012-03-21 21:43:21 +0000 UTC]

I dunno bout that, I've managed to do that with an M-1 Garand. That'd be called "suppressive fire" I believe. It's not supposed to hit something, just keep heads down.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Streaked-Silver In reply to Pbohm [2012-03-21 21:51:14 +0000 UTC]

Suppressive fire means that it has to also be somewhat effective fire, Suppressive fire is meant to suppress movement and attack because the person feels threatened by the rounds being put in their direction. I'm a Marine sir, being a Riflemen is part of my job and profession. you don't run full out while trying to hit any one, and you don't worry about 'proper form' when your in the open and you need to reload. its not like the crapily made interface of the m-16 realistically lets you KEEP it on your shoulder any way for most of the trouble shooting for the weapon anyway. Not to mention each Marine is diffirent in how they reload their rifle and how they do it best. I take mine off my shoulder just enough for me to see the mag well from the corner of my eye. i can do this and reacquire faster then if i kept it in my shoulder.

ANYway, in a combat situation, you often don't use proper range techniques that i can tell you for sure.

No problem!

You've fired AR-15s *_*
I'd like to shoot these as well but I'm only limited to a .22 caliber air rifle and a airsoft P99

Only once, nice little rifle.
Is that because of Canada's gun laws?

looks great, though i'd of not guessed it was a Marine from the camo.. and i'm in the camo every day XD, I cant hold that against you though, the odd..digital tiger stripe/splotch pattern is hard to emulate

NDTwoFives In reply to Streaked-Silver [2012-03-20 22:42:26 +0000 UTC]

When the USMC requested the MARPAT, they already had in mind that it should be recognizable
Digital tiger strip? The one you're wearing on your MSG MSF soldier pics?

Streaked-Silver In reply to NDTwoFives [2012-03-21 02:59:02 +0000 UTC]

Quite honestly im not sure WHY it looks off, I've asked several fellow Marines and we cant place it, my Sergent might of just said it best when he said "i don't think anything can do woodland Mar-pat besides Woodland Mar-pat, here's that Kevlar and goggle ref btw [link]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NDTwoFives In reply to Streaked-Silver [2012-03-21 16:56:17 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've seen your ref, I originally planned to make my character wearing dust goggles but I switched to BEWs

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Streaked-Silver In reply to NDTwoFives [2012-03-23 07:19:31 +0000 UTC]

XD dust goggles are good if you need to draw a bunch of faceless fill ins for story and what not

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NDTwoFives In reply to Streaked-Silver [2012-03-23 15:11:48 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, dust goggles are good for generic characters that are just standing here

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Streaked-Silver In reply to NDTwoFives [2012-03-21 02:49:37 +0000 UTC]

nah the one im wearing in my Kevlar reference, I mean once i saw it was suppose to be Mar-pat i saw that it could be that, but the mix of colors is off.

now when i call it a digital tiger stripe/blotch pattern i call it that because in researching the origins of the MAR-PAT, they did indeed take a tiger stripe pattern and then heavily alter it, stare at a swath of mar-pat cloth for a minute and you'll see the remains of the tiger striping with the random digitized blotch pattern that makes it so effective

NDTwoFives In reply to Streaked-Silver [2012-03-21 17:09:05 +0000 UTC]

Reminds of the USAF's ABU and yeah, the black spots on the mARPAT look similar to the tiger stripes.
