Description
And yet...another doodle turned into a colored work with no background as usual. X]First time I'm making a complete multicam set rather than a simple pair of trousers.
05/08/12 EDITs
-Toned down the brown sections of the Multicam
-Added ISAF and 10th mountain Division shoulder patches.

Thank you, pretty hard pattern to paint if you'd ask me

Yeah, there is only one issue with it... :-/
His flag patch is backwards...

US flag patches are backwards because it allows you to see the star spangled banner first, before the 13 lines~
Which makes friend/foe identification faster~

XD I had trouble accepting that too, was wondering why would the US troops wear their flag patches backwards`

Terribly sorry.....X'DDD
There was a major facepalm involved there....there I was, totally believing that the patch would look normal.....pfffffffffffft!
Thanks!
Now, to integrate into my own drawings

Sorry, but that's not actually why the patch is reversed. It's based off of the flagbearers of 15th-18th century Militaries. As the one carrying the flag moves forward into battle, the pole upon which the flag is mounted is further ahead, and because of how the flag is mounted, the side with the field of stars is forward. US Infantry have patches on their right shoulder turned to replicate this fashion.
If you see a US Soldier with a flag on their left shoulder, you'll notice that it appears to be oriented properly.

I think I've drawn it once [link]
It's applied in brushstrokes like the regular DPM, but you'll have to know which color overlaps the other.
Oh and, MTP and Multicam will need a good tool to "blend" the yellow/lime and brown/tan sections together to make a gradient effect.

Ah, I see... It took me over a month to fully colour a ship that was considerably small, so...

well, with practice, you'll get more efficient too. My first coloring job took almost half a day and doesn't look...good now that I compare it with what I do nowadays in less time.

Is there any easy way to do it?

Well, a huge part of art is about effort and hard work, there is no miracle recipe unfortunately.
Hmm, we're still talking about camo patterns right? You can paste it under your lineart and work around with it.

Yup, I only own 5 and 0 tho.

Alright! Definitely loving the kit he's got on
Btw, have you seen the new helmets that many infantry, support elements and operators are making use of? They're pretty sweet.

New helmets in the American arsenal?
Haven't seen them yet, my mind is still thinking about the ACH and the LWH.

[link] It's not quite yet standard issue yet, but I've seen many units making use of these when they're not using the ACH and LWH.

Looks convenient for headphones users.

Oh yes I got a chance to mess around with one when I was still in the Army. There was a couple at the PX and it was fun to see how it fits and feels on your own head
the mannequin that they had on display, actually had a headset with it, so yeah, very convenient for headphone/headset usage

Nice You're lines seem to become very smooth with every picture^^ My only critic are the shoes, but I think they are one of the most difficult parts to draw

Thanks! That's because I've stopped using digital ink for the linearts, those are the original, scanned pencil lines.
Hehe, sometimes I don't pay attention to the boots, just doing them from reference. ^^
