Description
The Slaugh Husk SuitInvented during the years of the Elven Civil War. It was conceived as a means to protect and bolster the abilities of a Slaugh spellcaster. However the time it takes to properly prepare and cultivate the materials to create the suit and the potential danger of the bonding process has kept them from becoming more common.
The suit is made up of a combination of silk, sinew, the chitin of the Death Blossom spiders (the 'surrogate mothers' of the Slaugh), and bark harvested from live Sard (the marauding collosal treants of the Ashen Wastes, whose minds are as warped as their twisted frames.)
A subject first drinks a special brew of herbs and spider venom, dropping them into a paralyzed state. While in this state the Gore Weaver (a mystic specializing in the creation and bonding of husk suits) controls a special breed of spider that have been raised on the blood of the subject. These spiders burrow into the flesh while dragging interwoven strands of silk and sinew until they hit bone. Their the arachnids will anchor themselves and eventually merge with the subject's flesh. While this is going on the Gore Weaver is chanting various spells of transmutation, enhancement, and necromancy, as well as venom scarring various runes onto the subject's skin. To the exposed anchor strands are affixed the various carved plates of chitin and bark as well as a body glove of silken sinew. When all is done the subject has bonded to the living armor, which now acts as a second skin. This of course is physically traumatic and also quite permanent.

A husk suit 'feeds' on the bodily secretions of the wearer. While it may be broken as any normal armor the husk suit can repair itself as the wearer rests or is otherwise inactive at a rate of 1 hti point per hour, even repairing breaks and regrowing missing pieces. If it has the broken quality this is removed in the first hour of repair.
Counts as a magical focus for spellcasters
A husk suit may have additional specialized upgrades. A husk suit cannot be made out of other materials.

Wowww....that is messed up!
I mean, the picture looks really cool! I saw the drawing, understood it to be your Deathsuit SLAD&D equivalent, and thought, "nifty"....
...then I read the list of components ("Quite the recipe! Love the Treant idea!"), then the process...
*gulp* Wow. You really thought about that! What's more, you have a liking for "living armor" in various forms (I think I can recall at least 2 or 3 other descriptions in your work, all unique) but this is probably the most elaborate and fucked up... Very appropriate for the setting and impressive. This is one where the "fluff" description makes the picture a lot more than it seems at first!
Sorry I didn't make it by sooner, but I do like it! This is turning into quite a setting...easily playable with enough stats! Like a black mirror to most D&D settings...muah-ha!
