Yeah, the title sucks, but I haven't been to sleep yet and the original of this is 1530 pixels tall. I had to slack somewhere.

Anywho, in honor of today being the release date for the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (and to ease my devastation at Turn Off the Dark leaving Broadway), I give you cisswapped Spidey and MJ. Who is not in the movie. Based on a promotional pic from the original Raimi film series. ... Hey, remember when Mary Jane was going to be in the new movie? ... Because I do. I REMEMBER, MARC WEBB!

Anywho, this is Pietra Parker and Matthew James Watson of my hypothetical ciswapped universe Marvel-919 . It occurred to me that I haven't drawn these two in any "coupley" pictures, and seeing how Peter and MJ are one of my many OTPs (wait, isn't that an oxymoron?) I felt the need to rectify that. But I was also too lazy to think up a pose, so here we are.

FUN FACT: You can tell anytime a Spider-Woman 919 picture is based on something from the Raimi Trilogy by the gray webbing pattern I usually use black. In case you can't tell by the relative locations of their pelvises, Pietra is not taller than MJ, just holding him up low.

MJ's torso's not freakishly long; he's just wearing a long jacket. A jacket much like these . Obviously it's a response to Mary Jane's red cheongsam dress as seen in the photo and the film. FUN FACT: My mother thought the dragons were question marks on first inspection and asked if he was wearing "a Riddler costume." ANOTHER FUN FACT: The circles on his jacket have the character for "spider" in them.

It's a rough time to be a Peter/MJ shipper, you guys. In light of that fact, I'm not saying I'll be drawing these two more ... but I'll probably be drawing these two more.

PS: I am actually really tickled at how close I managed to make the background to the original picture's.
