Description
You walked on all our hallowed ground and ploughed itDeep and gaping, leaving scars
Which the water filled, like even our god was crying,
And you planted the bones of our family there;
The blood of our kin, the hope of our hearts
And trusted that your salt in the earth would stem the growth.
You took things from our sacred temples and our churches,
Stole away our maidens in the night,
And brought back only lies and a sickness,
Which infected every one of us until we begged for death;
To be planted in that unhallowed earth you had breached
And swallowed up under rows of furrows you had drawn.
But hope travels far and fast and furious, and soon
The word had reached the next village, and the next
And they came to our hallowed ground and wept,
Out of their salt, out of their tears, we grew
We grew thorny vines, touch and vicious, and you could not cut us
Though you tried and tried, with weapons and words,
We grew.
When the sun came out on our hallowed wilderness,
You cursed the sky and the earth and the sea
Because our roses bloomed, and bloomed, and bloomed.
Your invasion brought our beauty
And you will never forgive yourselves for that.

Why do most of your deviations read best when one is listening to Marilyn Manson?

As usual, you inspire beautiful things in my mind, dear. If you ever stop writing, I'll cry
