It's quite funny actually, You portrayed an interesting dynamic between the Killer and his Springlock Suit way before Scott did in Silver Eyes. Bob considers Fredbear his friend in a similar fashion William had dare I say an infatuation with Spring Bonnie.
I wouldn't be surprised if you were actually either the one Scott secretly trusted with making the plot or Scott looked at your comic and said "huh, this is some good stuff I think I'll put that in my Novel."

I don't think Springtrap doesn't trust in God or whatever. He just seems to think that he doesn't give a sh*t about the prayers. So maybe he was one of them, and considering what happened to him, he thinks that God has forgotten him and... maybe tries to protect Ian from the same deception he felt?

How is Springtrap still so against religion? He literally saw a balloon show up out of nowhere to take a kid to Heaven. There's been some pretty strong evidence for the Puppet's belief.

Read carefully. Springtrap's said more than once that nobody's listening to the Puppet's prayers, but he never said that there is no God. As for the reason for his attitude, well, that's what this arc will be about.

hmm, i agree with everyone comment but i can guess why Spring's got that chip on his shoulder....maaaybe, he once believed but something happened that made him realize or think that no one's there and so he doesn't like it (also maybe cuz someone he knew beside Merry that used to Preach constantly and he hates it) but i'll got with the latter. :/

Now that you've put forth the question, I have to offer an answer: I wonder if Spring's hatred for religion stems from perhaps his own unanswered prayers in his youth? It's the exact same well that my own religious disdain stems from, and it's a type of vehemence I can recognize and empathize with.
Funnily enough, this actually reminds me of myself and my mother; she the ever-faithful, and me, the constant decrier. Interesting parallel.
