Description
When I first heard of how "Starfox Assault" was going to feature missions on foot, I immediately envisioned an epic, gritty, warfare simulator starring the Starfox bunch, even though I had my doubts. As much ridicule the recent trend with the "bloom" visual effect has received, it would have been nice to have here.When I actually got my hands on the game, my fears were proven true.
Except for the rare gems, Japanese developers generally blow at shooting games on foot (both 1st and 3rd person), and this game was no exception. Also, the flight missions started off awesome and went quickly kind of downhill from there.
I also wan't a big fan of the retro-future look of everything as well.
Hence I draw pics like this, play games like CoD4, and cry myself to sleep.

Assault was the first Star Fox game I ever played and I thought it was real fun. But as I got older and played games like Left 4 Dead 2, Half life, Team Fortress 2, and GTAV Online, it does not feel anything like an dicey fast-paced shooter. So I have to agree with you about how lack luster it is. But I still think it's a fun game to play and you've done a good job with this picture.

Starfox is my ALL TIME FAVORITE game franchise (Besides F-Zero ofcorse) And I must say I was VERY let down too.
(I REALLY hope Starfox on Wii U will have improveed land combat)
because I'll be the first of most to say this....Starfox64 is my LEAST favorite of the franchise. Assault, Adventures, and Command are my favorites because there very different in there own ways.
(I've always loved alternative endings in games because it's interesting to see more then one stale, boring outcome)
Plus I ADORE all of the F-Zero references!

I think it would be better if you are able to run fast with the blaster, you are able to parkour with the blaster, you are able to climb fast with the blaster and make the explosions a lot more colourful instead of washed out yellow and orange, and high pitched ding noises when you reach a checkpoint or flew through rings.

Starfox Assault is great, I really don't understand the complaints about the on-ground mission, they work well for me.

The only way Starfox would go to the gritty side of gaming is if a fan made the game.

Starfox was pretty hardcore for a series made for kids. I think this picture really shows that, as well. A very grainy is befitting.

I love this materpeice, color or not, its exatly what i invisioned when i head about assault comming out.. if nintendo learned anything ... doubtful- but if they did, they need to hire you for their next game you got some serious talent

It's a nice idea. Problem is that Nintendo is a Japansese company and in reality they are awful at making shooters. I like how they done it though. it changed Starfox's gameplay and pushed it to a new level.
