Okay guys, so I can't post any of the art I've been working on for a couple of days so I decided, thanks to the encouragement of LostandFounding to post my sample comic on here. It's just 10 pages long. I made it almost exactly a year ago with the goal in mind to send it in to Yen Press but it's turned more into a rough draft than anything since I didn't know how to use screen-tones and halfway through making this I got ClipStudio so it looks inconsistent and I wasn't going to redo what I had already done so yeah. I am NOT looking for critiques on the artwork since as I said, this is a year old. Once I upload everything, if you want to critique anything else (flow, ease of understanding, etc.), I'd love it, just not the art itself.

Here's some backstory so ya'll aren't confused. It takes place in a fantasy world called Norwin, post alien invasion (that's another story entirely, I'm not going to go into it since it's unrelated to this) so in other words it's modern time. The world is filled with all typical fantasy monsters as well as some of my own making. This story is about a girl (Kurohime) that houses a piece of a Goddess's soul, called a Shard of Norwin. She is part of a race called the Nagual, which hold two souls in their body, their own soul as well as that of an animal, which gives them various abilities and shape-shifting. She grows up believing she is just like all the others, just a little weaker and prone to sicknesses that others are immune to. As she grows, she finds herself drawn to others that trigger memories that aren't hers. It is revealed that those that come together all house the souls of the Goddess's companions. These individuals find themselves in a vicious cycle of repetition from multiple past lives and do everything they can to keep it from happening again. While most of them truly wish for Kurohime to live a safe life as her own person, there are still those that want to relive the past, even if it means destroying the present. I'll make a more in depth character sheet, but for now here is simple character info.

*Kurohime Knights: A girl that holds the Shard of Norwin. Her previous life was a mutant named Nyssa. She gets sick often due to her body compensating from the huge powers kept locked up inside her. Despite being a princess of the Knights family, she is not a great magician or warrior like the other women in her family. She is in all ways, a kind, normal girl. Due to unclear reasons, she was kept isolated for much of her life. Her animal spirit is a cat.
*Kokoro Knights: The younger sister of Kurohime. She is boisterous and wants nothing more than for her big sister to be happy, even though she did not meet her often as a child. She is fast and excels in hand-to-hand combat. Her animal spirit is a rabbit.
*Aka: She is extremely close to Kurohime, to an almost possessive level. She makes clothes with ease, and takes it upon herself to make all of Kurohime's clothes. Due to her past, and her memories of her previous life, she has an obsession with being beautiful. Her animal spirit is a fox.
*Tadhg: (pronounced ti+gue) A very shy and nervous boy. He says little and trusts less. After being saved by Aka, he opened up a little and agreed to be her model. His animal spirit is a deer.
*Arashi: A boy that can't help but want to protect Kurohime. He always has her best interest at heart, even if she doesn't think so. He doesn't talk about what happened to him as a child, or why he hates his brother so much but everyone knows it has something to do with his scar. He was the lover of the Goddess and then again in a later life with Nyssa and those memories make him feel quite awkward around Kurohime. The younger twin of Hyoga. His animal spirit is an electric dragon.
*Hyoga: In his past life, he cursed himself by committing a great sin. Due to this curse, he remembers everything that happens in every life. His curse also makes him obsessively love whoever holds the Shard of Norwin. While his existence as a companion of the Goddess was wiped from history, he is still remembered as a companion of Nyssa. He is angry that nobody wants Kurohime to fulfill her birthright. The older twin of Arashi. His animal spirit is a frost dragon.
*Hana: A shrine maiden who endured much torture by corrupted priestesses. She holds both the spirits of Black and White inside of her, making her unique. She is almost immortal and has seen many things and has many powers that are not accessible to others. She is one of the few that can actually keep the explosive power residing inside Kurohime in check. Her animal spirit is both the black and white spirits of the bear.

So this particular sample takes place when Kurohime starts to remember who she is, due to Hyoga's interference. At this point in the story, those that know the truth of who she is have taken away all barriers that keep her powers in check, to set her up for her destiny.
