Bio: He never really had a beginning. All he remembers is just "being there" one day, so he figured he was crafted by a toymaker and happened to have magical powers. He had the power to grant wishes, but being the crafty troublemaker he is, he made people become greedy and selfish with every wish they made. When he would refuse to grant anymore wishes for them, he would watch them go insane with greed as if they were meant for nothing but his own entertainment. One day he came across a mysterious man who wanted to learn more about his mysterious powers. The man made many wishes and eventually fell victim to the greed that cursed all who wish upon Jean. The man now knew of the catastrophes Jean could cause, and scratched on his box "DO NOT OPEN". With that scratched on his box, Jean feared nobody would open his box and "entertain" him anymore. He feared he would become lonely. From then on, Jean sought revenge on the mysterious man who holds the journals. In his state of panicked fear, he spent most of his days desperately trying to scratch out the cryptic message on his box. With no tools he could use, he used his bare hands causing them to get scratched and- to his surprise- bloodied. Sadly, even with the message scratched out, the damaged and blood-stained box was never opened again. He then wore gloves as to not scare away anyone who might actually open him. As the days turned to months and the months turned to years, Jean found his way to a little place called the Mystery Shack. There, people would gawk over him and look at him, but none bought or wished upon him. One day a young boy by the name of Dipper wound up Jean's box and Jean popped out, being the toy that he is. Although, Jean caught sight of Dipper's journal and feared the worst. He tried to hide back in his box, but Dipper Investigated, realizing the powers that Jean contained. From then on, Dipper was wary of Jean and vice versa.

Contact With Canon Characters: He lives in the Mystery Shack and talks with the twins, making them wishes occasionally.

Other:
· The rules that apply to his wishes are:
- You must make your wish while you turn the handle and play the music
- You can only wish for items that can fit in his box (you could wish for something bigger, but it would come with consequences).
- If you do not ask for an item, Jean can only give you information he knows himself- no omnipotent questions like "where's the lost city of Atlantis" (although he might know the answer to that one...).
· Jean cannot use his powers directly for himself.
· Jean was never a Jack-in-the-box from the start; He was once a boy, but made a wish on the previous "Jack" that had a big price to pay. Now, Jean is trapped as a magical toy with no memory of his human life and destined to bring his curse upon someone else.
· He is immortal. The only way he can die is if his handle is pulled out and his box burned. This way, he can't escape the box before the flames reach him.
