Description My part of the trade with the really awesome Autlaw , of her character the Red Wind. <33 Yay! I really needed a break from all those shota boys, so it was very refreshing to be able to draw a real man! xD Just look at those abs omg! >///<

Ah, this took me a long time, so I just hope I didn't mess up too much! Cuz I had a lot of emotional ups and downs while doing it! xDD I first I was like Yay! I got a trade! But then I started sketching it and I was like "Wait... Has this person realized that I pretty much only do yaoi and sexy stuff, and that I wouldn't be able to make a serious drawing with some meaning even if my life depended on it..?" So I sketched it, didn't liked it, scraped it, sketched it again, deleted it again... And so on. xD

I wanted to do something better than this, more like dynamic, or a cool perspective, or something like that, which this artist seems to like, but... Well... I can't do that. I tried, but I couldn't. Ugh! >.< So at the end I stopped to think what were the things I could do better, which are probably anatomy and coloring, so I decided to stop trying to do something I'm inexperienced with, and try to give my all in what I think I'm good at. Maybe I wouldn't be able to make the kind of picture that my partner in the trade is expecting, but at least I wouldn't embarrass myself! xD That's how the guy ended naked. It's totally not my fault. xD

But even after that I still had trouble... I remember starting my computer, opening the file and staring at for hooooours... Just to close it a while later without doing anything. xD And I did that several times! Ah, frustration... What a damn thing, ugh! >.< I also had to look at many pictures of shirtless men... Not that I mind looking at the porn er, references though! xDD

And the background also almost brought me some tears too! xDD I wanted to do a city background, and I tried! But it was then when I realized I didn't know how to do a city background... x'D So I thought, I'll do a cathedral then! : D But then I realized, hey... I don't even know what a cathedral looks like... Which made me decide to go back to the city idea, which I didn't succeed at... So I the end I drew a window. A. Damn. Ugly. Window. :/  But yeah, I'm not gonna change it now... ^^"

And since I couldn't really bring any emotion into the drawing, at the end I just threw some random symbols into it to make it seem like I really knew what I was doing. xDD Like... Well, in his ref it said that his wings were stained with the "blood of his sins", but the artist told me not to draw his wings(?), so I still added some feathers... And a cross, because, well.. Cross, Religion... Sins... I had no idea. But I thought it looked very dramatic. xD
And he's also supposed to be a quite detached character, but he still lingers on his past, so... I tried to put him into an isolated place, in ruins, kinda representing what he's lost, and the loneliness that awaits(?). Yeah, more drama. xDD Oh, and that glowy reddish thing around him it's supposed to be the red wind that he casts. Well, it looks like some random effect placed there for no reason, but no! It's very important in the drawing! xDD 'Cuz... Well, since I didn't draw his clothes, didn't draw his wings, couldn't really show his personality... I thought I really needed to put something that reminded me of him. So yeah, I bit of red light here and there! xD

But, well, that's all. I think I've written quite a lot already. xD Other than that, I just want to say Please, don't full-view it! >.< Or else you'll see all the things that don't look so good. xD Like the face. .Please, don't look at his face, omg! >.< And the hands. Gosh, I tried to hide them, but still wasn't enough! xD And the background too. It you full-view it you will see that it's pretty sketchy. I don't think I could have done it better though. :/

But yeah, I still hope you like it and that you won't regret trading with me! ^^" I really put a lot of effort in it, I just happen to be on a different level, I guess. And, of course, if there's something that needs to be redone or added (markings, accessories, etc) tell me! I don't mind editing it! ^^

.....

Oh my goodness that must be one of the most in depth description of the process of one's work I've ever seen in my life here on deviantArt ;_; AND I ENJOYED READING IT BTW... my goodness all that effort and struggle I feel you though, haha I usually want to type about all the stuff I bumped into when I work on a piece and finally submit it but I somehow think no one will read my blabbering hahaha. What I'm trying to say here is that I feel so deeply flattered to see you put your heart and mind into this drawing, trying out various things to make it all work out ;u; That's true spirit !

But back to the drawing..

First of all don't worry I'm actually quite speechless as to what to say or where to start first ...

BUT I'll TRY.

I'm so thrilled to see you put him in a very in-character way in the situation here.. he's such a gloomy personality and seeing him dwell on his past like this is heartbreaking in a good way ;_; I might have not submitted much info about him or drawings but THIS IS VERY ACCURATE. I mean the way you made him walk around in a desolated building, which to me could also be the upper floor of an old church building or monastry makes it even more accurate. He is torn between believing and not believing. Not precisely in a god like most humans do, but as in having faith in the world. He's got a strange religion and seeing him with so many symbolic elements here makes it very accurate to me ;-; I also love how the cross is upside down on the right, which could also mean he went against the religious "rules" which could also stand for his sins. My goodness ;-; I don't know if it was intentional but it works VERY well for showing hidden clues to his past

And I love how you made the feathers fall down around him, it's adding a sense of movement yet also stillness in a way ;-; I can almost feel how silent it must be there now, with him just standing there and scanning his past again, probably thinking how it could all come to this. And I love the hint of the city in the background !! I love how there are more modern buildings on the left and more historical looking silhouettes on the right ;u; He's part of Daniel's storyline, which is a mix of both modern and old architecture and here it shows exactly both of those <,3 Lol I'm seeing more every time I go scroll up again and scan the whole drawing haha. It's wonderful ! THIS is what I like about drawings with a good composition and meaning ;u; It makes me really search for more and everytime I try I do find something new. That's a wonderful way to make a composition my dear ;_; I freaking love it !

And now on to the way you've drawn Red, my goodness... look at him looking all gorgeous. He's got that.. human yet somewhat out-of-the-world look which I always imagined him to have, as if he was not born human but some sort of half-divine being. And well the way you've giiven him such a outworldly beautiful body only helps making that concept true hahaha . Man... really I love your way of shading skin, it looks so smooth ;_; And that anatomy, I could only wish my knowledge of shape and muscles was that good haha. And don't you worry about making him shirtless or anything. There's truth in this as well as he does not feel temperature the same way as we do. So him just leaving his clothes off partly is quite in-character (;  Also, he doesn't like toooo heavy clothes on his body except for his coat (but he uses it for other purposes than keeping himself warm) so yeah, he can be seen walking around shirtless more like that I guess when he feels like it xD

And don't you worry about his face either, my goodness I love it ! I like how you stick with your own style, people always worry I don't like something because they draw something in their own style when trading but I actually love it when people stick with their own way of interpreting my characters xD ! And his eyes.. man you've got a way of making eyes look so shiny and alive ;-; And his hair looks spot on to me !!

Also.. that detail on the shading and lights on his necklace, belt and bracelet... I'm so thrilled you also included those ;_;

And.. well this is just so complete ! You've even included the wisps of the red wind around him. I can go on for hours about how I'm really in awe of how accurate this whole situation is you placed him in and how much justice you did to his appearance here ;_;

Also.. that purple and blue color scheme go so well here with the red.. wahhh <,3 Such mysterious colors..

I'm so going to make something awesome out of my part as well I promise ;u; I went further than a sketch in the end and completely went overboard already hahaha. My arm is starting to make progress since I only work 3 hours a day on drawings x3 So I was able to turn it into something more ;u; It won't be long until my part is finished as well !! I can already tell I had so much fun drawing Noche ;u;

BUT REALLY.. I'm so happy I said yes to the trade because this is absolutely amazing...
I'm happy, yes I am : U !!

Thank you so much for this awesome part of our trade ! I hope mine will be at least half as good haha <,3

<33333333 !!! Such looong comment! xDD It made me very happy.

Ah, the description... I always feel that I want to write all about the things that happened while I was doing it, but I usually forget about it when I'm about to upload it. hehe But this time I was a bit insecure about the result and I guess I needed to explain all the things that I couldn't show in images. You know, trading with you is a bit intimidating! xD And I always tend to get very nervous with trades. >.< I'm always worried about not being able to keep the 'essence' of the character.

But, yeah, I studied the character and his world a lot! xD I knew you'd probably like that, so I read all the info in his ref, and looked at all the drawings, even the sketches and all. xD  Partially because I was curious, and partially because I didn't want to stray to much from your idea. Though I was never sure how to put any of those things in an image. So at the end I simply made something random. xD

I'm so glad you liked the idea and the details, though I do admit that many of the things you noticed weren't actually intentional, like the cross being on the right, and all that... And others, like the building shapes and all were somewhat inspired in some of your drawings. Like... I've seen many city backgrounds in your pictures, and some historical buildings in your sketches, and there is also this drawing (S u s p e n s e ) of the imaginary city that I happened to like a lot, so... I guess it all gave me an idea of what their world looks like in general, though I wasn't able to draw it, and it was probably the most frustrating thing I had to face while doing this. >.< I really hate it when I can't draw what I see in my head! xD

As for the character, yes! I gave him a nice body and I'm proud of it! xD Though I don't have that much knowledge about the muscles and such. :/ I still struggle with poses, and pretty much I can only do the basic ones. >.< And as for the eyes... Oh, god! I HATE drawing eyes in adult men! I usually do younger boys, with bigger eyes and... Well, just look at the picture. One eye is smaller than the other! xDD Damn! I had to cover it with his hair so it doesn't look so bad! xD

Well, don't worry about your part! ^^ I'm sure you'll do something awesome, as always, and I had a lot of fun with this too! I had to step out of my zone of confort for once, which is always a good thing to do! And I'm glad you had fun with my little boy. I wasn't sure if you'd enjoy drawing a cute teenager instead of a badass character, but I'm still quite eager to see what you will do! <333

That's great though ;u; Because I really loved reading your whole process for this drawing ! I'm always interested in how other artists get their ideas and how their thought process goes during a drawing. Wether it be in a description, video or anything else, it's always interesting to me to read ;u;

Ahpff I'm not intimidating  I don't bite haha.
I am almost done with my part ! Just got to add the last color adjustments and check on dead white pixels (dem white pixels.. dem little pestss).

I'm so happy with your part ;u; I really like how you portrayed him and I can still keep on roaming the drawing seeking for more clues and symbols XD !
You sure did give him one godly looking body You really have a way with making guys look so damn handsome ;u; I really hope I haven't messed up on my part considering that xD I've really pushed myself to dare to do something different from chosing the easy path haha.

also I like the cross and damn nice work on the light ovo
Also the hair looks epic XD

Yeah, it was quite hard to do. But maybe I exaggerated bit. xD
Well, you didn't have to read the whole description hehe. I just wanted to tell the tale behind the picture, since I don't think it really shows the true effort I put in it. ;-;
But thank you very much! ^^ I'm happy that you like it! Still, I can tell you that the best pictures are often the most troublesome ones to do! An easy one won't give you any problems. It's only when you have to think about composition, background, atmosphere and all, that the true problems arise.  I'd really recommend you to step out of your zone of comfort sometimes. It really brings a lot of improvement!
