Thank you - yes, her face turned out exceptionally cute; I don´t know, why. I wish, I could produce that look everytime and I even more wish, that I could make the 3D-model look like this. Well, I will have to do a lot of fine-tuning, I suppose

Is it fun? What are you doing? Providing costumes for rent? Or accessories? And what will happen after Halloween? Are you still interested in trying Kyoko-merchandise professionally? Because I do have a 3D model now and I will be getting that 3D printer first thing in January and I do have a very talented young lady who would paint the Kyoko figurines long term... I guess, I could have the first one ready by the end of January. Just let me know; I can totally understand, if you say "no".

Yes I'm still very interested. After job is over is up in air. Not sure of future. But I'm assistant manager so I'm busting my ass daily.

So you are sort of self-employed? Are you paying some sort of health insurance?

Not yet, not enough hours to afford it

I don´t want to wave my index finger, being smartassing and patronizing; and I guess, you are aware of the risk that you are taking...

Oh, hi, Richard! ^^

Thanks a lot! How are things in the Colonies?

Kyoko-Figurines for you at the beginning of next year, by the way. I have a young artist, who will colour them for me and I will definitely get a 3D-printer first thing in January (I cannot buy anything this year anymore, because of taxes). The 3D-model needs a little adjustment, but basically, I am ready to go. I could already produce figurines, if I would use a fabber-service. But they are too expensive. Anyway, I will keep you informed

Disappointing? How so?

And how´s that set of cards doing? I was a little jealous, I have to admit. I would have loved to do such a project, but I still feel that I am not good enough. I do remember that you asked various artists and I turned you down, but I don´t know, if this is the project you meant back then. I would be very curious - and knowing that I missed a real opportunity would certainly help overcoming my low self-esteem, making the decision easier next time

Expressed greetings and a warm "hello" from Monika who just realised I am writing a comment for you ^^

there was just so much that did not work at that venue...
teh travel was a chore...
there were hassles getting into the hotel, getting the vehicle parked
the crowd was boasting numbers, but the layout was very hit or miss, the artist alley was at the FAR back of the hall, and was air conditioned to the point of freezing. sales in the alley fluctuated greatly in that people either did really good or sold next to nothing. this was a bad show for sales. there were some amazing people cosplaying, i did get to see some amazing vendors that i do not get to see as often as i need to, but this was a hard sell. i hope and hoped that the people i knew there did well, but jack and pookie BARELY made table and the people i was with also suffered sales wise. montreal is a hard market, but i will figure out if it can be worked...

the tarot project was on hold, too many people fell off the grid and at the time i was not mentally up to the task of keeping up with the people backing out, there are still openings there, but until i feel more energy from the people working with me, it is on hold. ideally the chibi project will renergize that and show me that the people want this. plus this one just feels fun, your kyoko was boss, was the dpi 300? just want to make sure before i try to process images and such, and i want to make sure your work looks as boss as it is! tarot wise, was there a card you were slotted for or wanted? i think i had a list somewhere in my gallery...if you drop me a note i will go find and see what cards are open. you do amazing work and i would love to see your vision of something on that scale, (if you wanted to work Kyoko into it do it...i want YOUR vision)

in my opinion, you ARE good enough, you were back when i first met you here, your work with detail, anatomy, detail, poses and color really popped. and since then, your skills and talents have grown more and more EACH day since then...do that math, that is epic. but in this business, timing is the key, i want to work with people when they are ready, if you didnt feel ready then, there was a reason...maybe that has changed! i know i say this a bit, but i believe in you and the quality of the work that you do!

and to Lady Monika, i hope that she is staying inspired, the both of you rock, i do not hear from the two of you nearly enough, but i do know that people get crazy busy! i am doing what i can to pace myself as my show year is done, i used to have a show in novemeber but it went under...so that means i have until may to prepare the chibis, and make Anime North epic. i do hope that you and monika are having an amazing time

keep up the amazing work
thank you for everything!

I have had only one show myself, back then when I had my media-design company - and it was a pain in the butt-region! And it was only for an afternoon and we were only three people and only had to do presentation. I cannot BEGIN to imagine, what it must mean, to have a stand and sell stuff, organizing staff and all the logistics! It is no wonder that you need a rest occasionally, to say the least.
Monika and I have come to a decision - I will cut down on teaching to do more Kyoko again. The money is nice, but Kyoko is more satisfying. And thank you for your kind words - you give me too much credit (but it sure goes down nicely )
I have started playing a mobile game called Spirit Stones. Quite interesting concept (you collect digital cards and can battle with them - not as detailed as Magic-TheGathering and of course not as challenging, but the artwork is very nice and made me wanting to become a better digital artist.). That´s my next aim now: getting closer to that card-quality. And I think, this style could really be something for that Tarot-game of yours. Are there any of the Major acana left? The High Priestress? The Empress? The Star? If not, I would choose one of the cups-cards. Definitely a positive one.
I always felt, that Anime North is an event that is special to you. You write more about it and the impression that you are giving about it is always somehow fun, compared to other shows. I wish that it goes all nice and smoothly for you and that it becomes a lot better than the Montreal show. I can imagine that it must be quite frustrating, putting so much effort and money into a project and then it sort of flops, while you haven´t got a chance to do anything about it

I will try to improve on my end, sending you some positive thoughts. All will be well ^^

the link is here

any card that does not have a name to it, pick and it is yours
i knew going in that the comic con was going to be a hard sell, i luckily had a heads up warning
anime north is usually always fun, the energy is slowly getting back to where i need it to be
keep up the amazing work
let me know if you need anything

phew... this project is already running for five years and most of the people occupying project space having managed to deliver their card in that time? O.O

I am sorry, but that makes me really sick! You put effort and your valuable time into this and people simply fuck it up by blocking valuable space and putting everything on hold? (And I use the word "fuck" deliberately, because I usually don´t and it is supposed to show, that I am quite annoyed)

You know, I really would like to take part - but not in a project that will never finish, due to some twats not delivering the promised artwork. Why don´t they pull out, if they don´t have the time? Bloody amateurs!

I will do the Princess Of Cups. And I will not do it for the project; I will not do it for the fame or for the Tarot or for the feature. But I will do it for you - to show my respect and my appreciation for what you are doing to help people. Count me in.

i appreciate it!

i can relate to how life can happen, how unexpected things can come up, and even how interests and passions can change. some people that started, wanting to be an artist, some times life hits and the muse is just gone. i mean what we do is hard, and the rewards some times are very small...that can wear on people. it does hit hard when i try to do a promotion and it falls short...but when i meet people that care, that have that fire...it does offset a bit of that.

i commit to projects...
and the people that started with this, i wont let them down, i will find a way to make it work. the people who lost interest, the people who fell off the grid, i will find people who want

seriously thank you!
