I'll hopefully post something of substance soon, but for now, I'll just bitch some more.So I've noticed, not just on here but other websites, if you were to ask someone what they think an evolution/mega evolution for Rapidash should look like, 99% of them will say, "Give it wings!" They think it's the next logical step, probably because it's the only other supernatural horse creature they know out of the 100 zillion that are out there. While there is a strong possibility that if/when Rapidash gets a mega that it's going to be an alicorn, there's also a chance it won't, and that thought scares me. Not because I won't like it because I probably will, but because I know that people will throw a temper tantrum and not do a shred of research to learn something new just because they didn't get the toy they wanted. Keep an open mind, boys and girls; mythical horses have more than just horns and wings.

I've always wanted the flames to turn blue/white... or for it to gain electric typing.... mostly because that seems like awesome typing.

Unfortunately....even if I'm not a fan of Rapidash I think the same...Though fire/flying?! NUUUUUUUUU
But a fire pegasus with Brave Bird...just a wonderful pegasus Pokemon, but who knows? Game Freak might will freak us out

No way, that would just make it another fire/flying type which is BAD considering it already has no chance of competing with Talonflame and Charizard.

Yes, that's my main concern. I'll take another Fire/Fighting starter before another Fire/Flying ANYTHING! Unless they give it a second type and Levitate, I can't see a pegasus/alicorn mega working out too well.

Hmm, I actually think the most logical step forward for a Mega Rapidash (or even just a third evo) would be to make it into an alicorn.
I mean, the only other mythical horse creature I can think of is a Hippocamp, which wouldn't make any sense because thats a mermaid horse.
Well... Theres also a hippogriff, but they have eagle heads.

I can think of quite a few ways to go, and it's not unlikely for them to base a Pokemon on some obscure creature. I'm not saying that Megadash won't be an alicorn, or even that it's not the most logical way to go. I'm just saying it's not the ONLY way to go. There are creatures such as the Zhi unicorn, Phooka, Karkadann, and Ceffyl-Dwr that I think are viable candidates.

honestly if i made a mega rapidash i'd have it have 3 horns or something, or give it like these darker flames and turn it into a fire/dark type.
but you never know with nintendo, the whole company tends to go the ways nobody expects them to, and usually its the ones we think are false that end up being true...

I just like to keep my mind open to possibilities, since they do tend to do unexpected things. If not an alicorn, I'm thinking they might base it off the Zhi unicorn and give it a giant horn, and a Defense boost. Or maybe make it a Karkadann and give it stripes. Or perhaps a Phooka and give it a secondary Ghost or Dark typing. There are so many possibilities, and people stubbornly clinging to giving it wings and calling it a day worries me.

yea if it gets wings and becomes something like fire/flying or fire/fairy. that will be kinda meh.
it'd be cooler to do something outside the expected.

I would like to see something out of the norm, even if it means pissing off a bunch of closed-minded people. Honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to Fire/Fairy if they based it off the Ceffyl-Dwr, but that's probably unlikely since that's a more water-oriented horse. But the last thing I want is another Fire/Flying.

The only thing saving Megazard Y and Talonflame is their ability to hit hard and the fact that they outspeed everything. Even then, you can still throw a pebble and kill them...

Hopefully the Dragon/Flying combos will start to go away now that dragons are no longer super broken.

Even though they made most dragons vulnerable to Ice attacks, it couldn't save the underused Ice type (most Ice types are too weak or fragile to be used in battle, and most dragons can learn Flamethrower or Fire Blast as an easy counter even without STAB), so it was pretty much a fruitless effort.

that and most water types can use ice beam to take advantage of the dragon weakness

If it does have wings, I think it would be cool to base it on the Ceffyl-Dwr and make it Fire/Fairy with Levitate (though those usually hang around water so idk).

Since megas are pretty new, there's still little to no precedent to how they should look. Some of them barely change and others change completely. Some adopt entirely new color pallets while others channel all of their power into one body part. Like I said, it's entirely possible that Rapidash will get wings, but it isn't unlike Pokemon to utilize creatures no one knows about as a basis for designs.

Aaah I see. Well nobody can really tell what will happen except for time, so I don't really dabble on creating mega evolutions of my own. It's fun to see what others think it could be though :v

It is fun to see what others come up with. I do my own thing sometimes, but I really like to take into account things like stats, typing, abilities, competitive usefulness, things I could base it on, etc. and that gets pretty difficult. Gotta give the Pokemon guys some props for that.

Yeah especially when you have to take that all down without making it too similar to other Pokemon and still making it a Pokemon that can exist in game without killing everything with a single flick of its wrist/paw/thing

That is a rather hard thing to sort out, and they've probably had to make adjustments during development because a Pokemon they thought was merely decent started wrecking everything.
