I'll hopefully post something of substance soon, but for now, I'll just bitch some more.So I've noticed, not just on here but other websites, if you were to ask someone what they think an evolution/mega evolution for Rapidash should look like, 99% of them will say, "Give it wings!" They think it's the next logical step, probably because it's the only other supernatural horse creature they know out of the 100 zillion that are out there. While there is a strong possibility that if/when Rapidash gets a mega that it's going to be an alicorn, there's also a chance it won't, and that thought scares me. Not because I won't like it because I probably will, but because I know that people will throw a temper tantrum and not do a shred of research to learn something new just because they didn't get the toy they wanted. Keep an open mind, boys and girls; mythical horses have more than just horns and wings.

but yeah, there are other mythical horses to base a Mega Rapidash on. Alicorns aren't the only ones.

It's the easiest and arguably the most unoriginal way. I mean, I guess I wouldn't be mad if they did give a Rapidash mega wings, I just hate how people act like it's the ONLY conclusion when there's literally hundreds of mythical horse beasts to choose from.

One of the most underrated mythical horses is the eight-legged Sleipnir of Norse mythology. Now THAT would be cool for a Mega Rapidash!

This concept would actually be the right way to go... if the wings were huge and made orf fucking fire! \o/ Also, put some more flares on the hooves and "armpits". This could be M-Rapidash Y and would be fire/fairy. Then M- Rapidash X should be black, have white flames and six legs like a nightmare Sleyphir and be fire/dark.

I think my main issue here is that this is the ONLY possibility that anyone seems to be open to, so if Game Freak decides to do something different with the mega, no matter how clever or potentially educational it is, everyone will hate it because "ITZ SUPOSED TOO HAVE WIIIINNNGGSS!" There are more interesting mythical horses out there, it's not just unicorns and pegasi. That said, if the wings weren't the only change, and if it becomes a Fire/Fairy instead of another Fire/Flying, I wouldn't mind.

Interesting idea. I drew up some concepts for Mega Rapidash, and the one I fell in love with was a Sleipnir-based design with the Speed Boost ability. I don't think it will happen, though, since it would probably be a bitch to animate all those legs.

Wings of fire + An extra horn or two + Fiery collar = The bare minimum of additions to the design for me to be satisfied.
And speaking of stealth brony references, I hate it when people associate Horse FLUDD (i.e, Keldeo) with that mediocre cartoon.

I honestly just don't like the Fire/Flying typing that a winged Mega Rapidash will most likely have. Between Charizard and Talonflame, we have plenty.

You know, as much as I'd love to see a winged Rapidash, there's only one such design that I've seen that I absolutely love: thisΒ Pegadis . Every other winged Rapidash design I've seen has wings that look bulky, tacky, and out of place. My other favorite design is thisΒ Mega Rapidash , which has no wings at all but has flames that kinda look like winglets. Any higher form of Rapidash should be elegant first, but also intimidating, kinda like Xerneas. Anyway, that's my

Understandable, and those are rather cool. I'm just tired of seeing the same generic pegasus concept all over DA (which pretty much just consists of slapping poorly drawn wings on Rapidash and calling it an evolution/mega), and that people seem to think that turning Rapidash into a pegasus is the ONLY way to go. I'm also really tired of Fire/Flying types between Charizard, Talonflame, and kin, so if they do go with a winged Megadash, I'd prefer Fire/Fairy or something. And if it looks creative like the ones you're showing me, I'm all on-board.

I dunno...if they're going to go that route, I kinda want more than JUST wings (and honestly, I'm sick of all the Fire/Flying types out there). At least Mega Absol got fluffier with more subtle changes all throughout.

I wouldn't be opposed to wings necessarily, and it would by no means be a shock if that's what it turned out to be. I think I'm just tired of seeing the exact same Megadash concept copy-pasted all throughout DA, with little variety beyond giving it wings and calling it a Mega. At the very least they could give it more fire, or change the color of the fire, or base it more on the Ceffyl-Dwr and give it a secondary Fairy typing with Levitate.

Yes, I find it weird that quite a few people dissed Mega Sableye and Mega Metagross because "they didn't change enough," but are totally content with just slapping wings on Rapidash and calling it a mega.

Mega Metagross changed a lot, I think. This form makes it look a lot more like the double-Metang it's described to be.

Yes, I think Mega Metagross fits nicely. The Metagross line has always been kind of a more threatening version of Magnemite, with each evolution being a magnetic fusion of sorts.

But if Rapidash is going to get a mega evolution, what should it look like? Giving it wings is just too damn obvious. I mean...Damn, what was Odin's horse called? Sleipnir! It has like 6 or 8 legs, that would be pretty cool. Then, it's Ability could be Speed Boost, because, you know, 6-8 legs is faster than 4, just saying...

I was working on some design concepts without wings, and I might post it once I'm finished (actually, if you don't mind, I'd like to design something using that Sleipnir idea of yours). And don't worry, I'm not trying to attack bronies or anything, and I'm sorry if I came off that way. A flying horse with a horn and wings is actually called an alicorn (as opposed to the pegasus term that everyone uses when describing Megadash, since I'm assuming they don't want it to lose its horn upon going mega), and to my knowledge, the term has been around longer than MLP.

If you count the little stubs on some of the caterpillar Pokes, I would assume that would be the most. Even most bugs have no more than 4 legs, which is interesting to say the least.
