The main focus of the group is on male infant circumcision, but they also are against female infant circumcision and sex reassignment surgery being performed on intersex infants - all things that these people cannot consent to due to their age. #EndCircumcision believes that circumcision is something that should be up to the individual, when they choose, later in life.

Circumcision has killed hundreds of babies, and has caused lots of medical problems. And how is not tearing off a piece of a child's body part without his consent, not child abuse?Β And how am I ethnocentric just because I don't like the idea of parents force circumcision of a defensively child that can't defend themselves ? That's why they make that choice when they're older. And that is bull. Half of the males in the US is circumcised. And guess what, they're still unhealthy. They still get cancer, infection, Std's. All circumcision does is reduce their sensitivity and could kill them or leave them with painful scarring. Research your stuff.Β And most males born in Europe aren't circumcised. And yet they're are healthy people there. Health has nothing to do with having foreskin.

I have a respect for culture. I don't have a respect for tearing off a healthy part of the human body. It use to be the culture for the US to have black slaves. But now we've seen how wrong that is. Same here, I respect culture as long as it's not hurting anyone. And that's still not an excuse to circumcise. I'm simply saying that removing female breast tissue would be healthy, cause it would reduce their chances from getting breast cancer. Unfortunately it also puts infants' lives at risk. Β 100 infant boys a year die in the US from botched circumcisions. 11 babies caught herpes from an orthodox Jewish mohel last year, and out of the 10 that were hospitalized, at least 2 developed brain damage and 2 died. I am totally fine with adults old enough to consent to such things getting circumcised if that is their choice. However, infant circumcision takes the decision out of the individual's hands, and I believe that to be wrong.

Male circumcision really only bothers me if it's done strictly for cosmetic purposes. And even then ... that's mostly because I find it kind of creepy that the kids parents are so concerned about what the kids penis looks like.

I used to think circumcision was a good idea, mostly because of misinformation fed to me all my life. When I finally bothered to look into it a couple of years ago, I changed my opinion completely. I'm so glad I did that before I ever had the chance to make that decision for a child. I will never have a child circumcised (if I ever have children). I'm glad that this is finally being talked about! I just want you to know that, even though you might wonder if you're not reaching anyone... you are making a difference by at least making this a topic of conversation. Once it starts to be talked about instead of just being the default assumption, change can happen.
And the sad thing is most parents say they do this because they want their son's penis to look the same as everyone else's... so it's purely cosmetic. How do you think they would feel if doctors recommended chin jobs and nose jobs and plastic surgery at birth to ensure that their child will look like everyone else? Genitals should be no different!

I don't get the big deal. Yes, the baby does look in pain, but he'll forget it in a few days. Circumcision is not a big deal. While the baby is young it is the parents choice to decide what is best for him. I'm sorry to say, but circumcision will never end. No matter how many stamps you put up

That's what people thought about slavery, and women having equal rights. But it will end. People just have to be more informed. And it's not the parents right. It's that child's body, so he should have the right to what he was born with. And hundreds of babies die, get std's and sti's, have problems with erections, and suffer bad scaring all from circumcision. So how is this not a big deal.
