Mario and Goompa fighting against Bowser Jr.No, he won't replace Jr. Troopa, I just played with that thought for a while...
The image above is a screenshot from the game Paper Mario for the N64 with some or all of the original textures replaced by updated versions I created.
New Paper Mario is a retexture project for the original Paper Mario game for the N64.
It will be playable on an emulator and my goal is to replace every existing texture in the game, thus giving it a new look.

It's kinda funny, I actually have this stupid theory that Jr. Troopa is in fact Bowser Jr...
The only correlation being, however, is that this is Jr. Troopa's only appearance (Being Paper Mario 1 that is) and shortly after, Mario Sunshine came to be, which debuted the existence of Bowser Jr. so in other words... it's very much likely a coincidence... BUT WHAT IF!!!???

Bowser Jr. should be seen with Jr. Troopa talking about fighting Mario and stuff, and then they could officialy pair up as teammates.

Well, if you didn't like Jr. Troopa, I guess I can't persuade otherwise (Jr. Troopa freaking rocked, IMO), but this doesn't even make sense. Why would Bowser Jr. be so far away from his father, and going through all sorts of crazy stuff when he can just use his dad's army and resources to get Mario? Not to mention it'll probably get confusing when it comes to when he beats up the Koopa Bros.

Hehe, well I always like Bowser Jr. and never found Jr. Troopa that cool... But I think you haven't seen the other comments. In the meantime I already decided against Bowser Jr.

Wow it must be pretty tough to completely replace a character's sprite altogether but you did a perfect job! Having never seen a paper version of Bowser Jr. i'd say there's no better design for his paper form.

Ehh, I love your work and all, but the idea of Bowser Jr. Replacing Jr. Troopa would put a major plot hole in Paper Mario. Jr. Troopa is supposed to be the boss of the Neighborhood gang, though the only member you see is Jr. Troopa. His sole purpose is to get revenge on Mario for setting foot on his Playground. I dunno, I just feel like you're not giving Jr. Troopa enough credit. XD
But great work, anyways! I'd love to see a Jr. Troopa from you! XD

I like the picture, but I also agree with . In my eyes, just the scale of Bowser Jr. is too small. (I compare his size to those in SMG2. He's acually the size of Mario. If not, even bigger.)

Bowser Jr. has various different sizes in different games. Lately he just kept getting larger and larger. Just like Bowser, and Bowser's also quite small in the Paper Mario games.

Because I never really liked Jr. Troopa and wanted to replace him. Bowser Jr. seemed to fit in this role. And their names sound very similar, too.
