Description
Mario inside Goombario's house in Goomba Village. The image above is a screenshot from the game Paper Mario for the N64 with some or all of the original textures replaced by updated versions I created.
New Paper Mario is a retexture project for the original Paper Mario game for the N64.
It will be playable on an emulator and my goal is to replace every existing texture in the game, thus giving it a new look.
You can see everything in my New Paper Mario gallery .

Ever seen the museum in Animal Crossing? Terribly guilty of this. It's almost laughable.
Then again, Peach's Castle in this game has an odd interior floor plan for it's shape. Also, the towers become bigger with more windows when you trek your way up to Bowser, and a mysterious tower pops out of the back of the castle that leads you to the roof...

Yes, those rooms would never fit in there

I remember at one point in Tubba Blubba's castle, Goombario says that he's jealous that one room in the castle is bigger than his whole house. But hey, for an RPG house, this is pretty spacey, albeit empty.

It's also unusual for an RPG that it has the exactly same size from the outside and from the inside. Most houses are bigger on the inside, but not in Paper Mario.

I thought the spin fuction was rather useless in the game. (Unless for speed runs)
I really like how the house came out.

Thanks. I always use the spin function. I just don't have any patience.

Even if you are not speeding through, the spin dash function can be very useful when it comes to going through long hallways, or when you need to go from town to town to meet other people or give them objects. It's also useful when you have to progress in a place invested with weak creatures.
However, when it ends up taking you 40+ hours to complete the game, you may be better off going off slow and actually thinking about what your doing. *Remembers bad memories*

Yep. I did do the things you mention, but I donly did that when I got the bump attack.
It took 40+ hours? o-o It took me 21 hours.

With 40+ hours, I also revisited place I didnt need to go to gather things, I battled monsters for extra exp, did side quest, and basically tried everything. I didn't use a guide at all, so... I fool around a lot.
Also, in the world with flowers and Lakitos, it took me forever. P.I.T.A. boss tho.

Yeah the flowers were annoying. But once you figure out that you can get level 30 Mario there easy. It's almost worth the effert.
(Those amazing dazyees only come up in two spots remember? Which back a forth between the two spots and one will come up.)
The Boss is still hard even after you get level 30 mario. In my last playthrough, it was the only boss that killed me in the run. I got so mad. >x<

Browsing through comments, I noticed this one...Amazee Dayzee..I have a secret method for killing those guys!
First, equip the dizzy spin badge (Makes enemies dizzy if you spin dash into them before battle for about 2 turns). Next, Bow's fansmack. Then, either charge up Mario for a turn or Power bounce if you're good enough. Or just wait another turn for Bow's Fansmack again. XD

Your method is not bad. I have to admit.
I use the same method. Only I have Parakarry out. (Misspell) Yay for level 30 Mario!.

And no, you spelled Parakarry right. XD

Oh really? That's really great to hear. Bow's fan smack does the most damge any party member can do in the game. But I think the reason I didn't use her was because any defence higher than 0 causes the power of the fan smack to decrease dramatically. I thought amazing dayzees had a defence of 1. *shrugs*

Yes, that's true. But still, with the dizzy enemy, you've got two turns for you to charge up any move you want. XD

Gah, I love the Paper Mario series. My only worry with the new game coming out is that they'll either only use a Chain Chomp for a partner, or there won't be any neat designs for partners.

CyberTails63 In reply to TheCynicalPoet [2010-08-05 18:46:24 +0000 UTC]
They may just come up with another species entirely. I wonder though... It better not be the stale boring partners in Super paper Mario. -_-

I'd hope so. But I saw a leaked video of gameplay actually using the Chain Chomp..eh, hopefully it's just a beta.

Hey. Chain Chomps will make killer partners. They'll redesign the Chain Chomp somehow. So I put my faith in them.
(It'll also be neat to see some cameo's or easter eggs of previous characters.) XP

Oh yes, I wasn't dissing the Chain Chomp! I was dissing the plain design! XD
I would love to see cameos of old partners! XD

I had to replay the game completely just so I could be powerful enough to beat the Cloud boss. Also, Amazing Dayzees were not amazing for me. I hate those useless flowers so much...always running away.

You gotta figure out how to defeat them quickly in one turn.
Power Pluses and Power Bounce did the trick.
replay the game to beat the cloud boss? oxo

Yeh. I replay games when I screw up on one part completely. Only took me a couple hours to get back there anyways. I do the same thing whenever I play an RPG.
