Aaaaaaah I have finally finish the first vet check for the The Frederiksberg Royal Jumping Event

Two more to dooooo !  Plus the entries and the  others vet-checks !

Tried a new kind of shading... Not bad, I pretty like this kind of shades !

PREVIOUSLY
Later that day, the calm came back, and so it was Caelyne’s turn to lead her head mare to the vetcheck. She so came back to the stables and headed through the boxes alleys to find her golden beauty. Just to the sound of her footsteps, Absolut recognized her owner and exited her head of her box, greeting her rider by a loud neigh. Caelyne smiled to her mare.

“Hey, Princess ! Glad to see you again too, my love.”

The girl said before headed to her mare. She looked at the mare’s body and noticed with a lot of satisfaction that she seemingly not rolled herself in the straw after that Cae spend a full hour to make her ready for the vetcheck. She petted the buckskin mare neck.

“Well, I’m glad to have at least one horse here which is quiet enough to represent our stables correctly !”

The mare snored quietly and pulled her head on her owner’s torso.

“Yeah, yeah, I know you’re a perfect Lady, Princess. That’s not a coincidence that you’re my head horse… I can trust you over the stars.”

The mare shakes her head like she’s agreeing with her rider.

“Anyway, girl, this is our time to verify that all is perfect for you too ! Let’s go, my dear.”

Caelyne took her mare’s presentation bridle and wore Absolut with it. Then, she quietly led the mare outside the stables, straight to the vetcheck area. During this time, Absolut was absolutely quiet and calm, as this totally new environment was just another formality in her life. Caelyne launched a satisfied look to her mare. Yup, she was definitely the best investment she could have done these past years. Absolut was a perfect horse for her : quiet, confident, intelligent, patient… But also demanding and not so easy to ride : she was a Princess and needed to be reached with all the respect due to her condition. We could say that the both girls had exactly the same kind of character, a thing which can explain their alchemy.

During their way to the vetcheck area, they crossed the path of a lot of horses, and Absolut didn’t even move an ear, despite some stallions’ calls and some mares’ agressions. Caelyne was relaxed, thanks to her mare. The day began so badly compared to this moment… The IHS boss felt her muscles being drawn tight by the memories of the few hours prior event. How do some professional riders act like clowns like that in a professional event ? That was particularly shameful for the IHS owner to note that two of her best riders were also so irresponsible. They could be happy that nothing too serious happened… Does Matthew was the only one she could trust about being professional outside their own stables ? Because apart the SF Breed event which happened a few months ago, the last show Eryn tooked part was the one where her and Gracia show to the world their incompetence… Even if they won first place. About Nao, that was only his second show outside the stables…

That’s only when Caelyne felt her mare becoming more nervous and impatient that she realized that she left some bad thoughts entering her mind. She got a grip on herself and came back to the real world. Anyway, they get them a lesson, some stuff to think about and the event had no serious consequences. All could have been so much worse… But that was the past, now, and she really needed to focus on the moment. By the way, Absolut’s name was called a few moments after she reconnected with the world. She led her mare near the vets, greeting them by a head shake. Andy smiled back to her.

“Hi again, Caelyne. So, how does the affair end, finally ? Does everybody OK ?”
“Hi again, Andy. Well, yep. Some of my staff have some serious matters to think about, now, but I guess that’s the bad part about managing people. You can not always be nice and cool when people mess up.”
“You get it. That’s a hard part, but necessary to maintain a cohesion in your staff… And a correct image of your stables. So, this is Absolut ?”
“Yup, meet the Princess. She’s also my head horse.”
“Glad to meet her majesty. Let’s start the check, shall we ?”

Caelyne smiled at the vet and approved by a head movement. But only after the first steps, Absolut suddenly stopped, showing to her owner the high emergency to… Scratch her butt. Caelyne launched a desperate look at her mare.
“Really, girl ? You were perfect until now, and that at this precise moment you decide to scratch your butt ?”

She turned herself to Andy.

“I’m sorry. It seems that all the horses from Ivory who are here decided to start a clowns show since that day... She’ll be ready in a few.”
“No problem ! Take your time. I like your horses, they’re cools and funny. That change a bit ! Well, I can at least assure you that she’s pretty flexible, and that she’s not seemingly stressed by the situation.”

Caelyne laughed to these words and then, waited a bit for her mare top finish her sratching. Once it was done, she showed to her rider that she was ready to do her check. The next part of the check was easy and ran smoothly, despite the mare’s previous behavior. After the approbation of the vets, some stops to say “hello” to some friends and their horses, some stops to eat some grass and some of them to look around, Caelyne finished to led her mare back to the stables. As she was quietly walking, a reflection came to her mind, and as she get closes to the stables, she started to wonder how the rest of the event would run when she sees how all this day was full of surprises…
